1. I find the low bridge atty works much better with carts than the DSE801 atty.
2. Some carts just work better than other carts... try another cart.
3. If you don't have the needle tip bottle mentioned in other posts, pull the fiber out - put drops in bottom of cart - put fiber back in. I read that somewhere on ECF and am amazed at the difference it makes.
4. Taking too many puffs too close together seems to dry out the top fiber without allowing the liquid in the bottom of the cart to wick up. Allow a little more time between puffs.
5. Flooding the atty by putting too many drops in the cart, inhibits the wicking. If you hear any gurgling, blow out the atty.

JerriB,
It will get easier to get the atty in and out in time. Try using the white cap that caps the Janty carts. Some people have had luck with that. As for dripping, I drip quite a lot. I usually use between 3-4 drops (probably wouldn't use much more because it may flood your atty). You can't charge your stick w/o the battery (just an FYI). My hubby and I have been using our JS batteries since June 5th and although I think the battery life is starting to wane, that is not bad considering they are only a couple bucks each. Ummm....other than that, the rest comes as "trial and error". Everybody's vaping experience varies.
Happy vaping!

I'm scared cause it's so far down I can't see it to make sure I'm not putting enough or even if I'm dripping in the right place.

You don't have to be a sharp shooter - just put 3-4 drops anywhere down the atty's tube (even on the side wall, of course the inner wall:D) and that's it.

Enjoy!!!

Glad you are enjoying the stick.

I've mentioned this on other threads, so hope I'm not repeating it to you. I've just started a new routine with my JS. Each time I take the cart off for a topoff, I tailpipe (drawing on the atty itself without a tip). It seems to clean up excess juice off of the bridge and when I replace the cart I get great vapor like when it was new. I can tailpipe for 5 - 8 draws, all with great vapor.

Works for me. Hope your JS satisfies the you like mine has me.

I don't think you broke anything -

Here is what happened with my V2 - Same as you - Kept turning and turning - What I found was there was a bunch of residual sealant material on the threads and it was not even getting on there - I had to use pliers to get it on there - REALLY REALLY HARD TO TURN - Because you have to dig your way through the offending material - Yes it did scratch all the finish off my atty where I gripped it - and warped the top part -

When you get it on - Take it back off and you will notice that the threads are full of little bits of black stuff (the sealant) Clean it out - Blow and shake out the hole out to get any more that may have dislodged - and REPEAT until you don't seem to be getting any more material out - Took me about 15-20 times on and off - I have had mine for 4 days now and today is the first day that I can get the atty on and off without pliers - Still it sometimes brings up little bits of sealant -

I contacted Ludo about this and he basically said that it was normal - Personally- Though I can see how it would be easy to put too much sealant on it - I really don't think that this should be called "normal" - Sloppy patch job is what I call it - It should also be normal to clean up your sloppy work before shipping it out - This is the first time I have had anything negative to say about Janty- I am still a fan - I just do not find this acceptable -

Someone asked how to tell a V1 from a V2 - There are two ways that I know of -The switch on the V1 makes a clicking sound - The V2 switch does not - The other way is to look down inside the atty hole - If you see a big glob of black sealant - that's a V2 - IF you see no sealant and a little red wire - That's a V1 -

This is the only observable difference - The sealant and the Switch - Suposedly there was work done on the wiring - But you can't see that -
I describe it as the V1.03 - It is really not a new version - Just the old version with some patches on it -

Don't get me wrong - I still think it is the best you can get for the money - But - I do not find this sealant problem to be acceptable - The customer should not have to do cleanup work on the sealant job - Particullarly when that proceedure messes your atty's up - A bad batch of switches is one thing - But not cleaning up your work - that's just not cool -

Mine arrived today (9/3/09) from a well known reseller. It has a clean atty contact area (no black sealant) and a switch that "clicks". When I press the switch, I can feel the click, but if I slightly reduce pressure on the switch, the light goes out yet the switch does NOT "UN-click". Even though there is NO black sealant, I had to use curved jaws Vise-Grip pliers (needle nose pliers did not work) to tighten the addy so it would make contact. All in all the Stick works great, but I dread the day that I will have to replace the "snap switch" when it fails. Perhaps a "touch sensor switch" would have been the way to go, as I have seen done by another vaper in a home made stick device. BTW, I have ordered 2 batteries that are 500mAh in the same 10440 design! Both for under $5 with free air mail shipping!:D

And getting that atty in, my gawd! It's a tight fit! We had to break out the needle noses. Please tell me that gets easier?!

>

Put those pliers back in the toolbox where they belong! The only *tool* you need to remove and/or install an atty into the JS is an m201 cartridge/mouthpiece. Click your way on over to Litecigusa.net and see Shawn. <g> The m201 carts are slightly shorter than the standard 801 carts, hence they hold slightly less e-juice. This is a good thing for the JS which can flood EASILY and make a mess inside the unit. Always use quality e-juice in the JS too... the cheaper thin stuff finds its way right past the atty connection inside the Stick.

Another tip for the JS... use refrigerated e-juice whenever possible. It thickens up that way. =) And, ALWAYS charge your JS with the switch pointed toward the ceiling so that the e-juice wont find its way into the switch.

Best of luck with your JS.

It could be like V1 where when you think you've got the atomizer screwed in you really don't. Give it an extra little turn.

My V2 (maybe a left over V1...no black crud and a "clicky switch") arrived today Sept. 3rd 09 and needle nose pliers were not enough to make the atty have good electrical contact. There is only 4mm of contact surface of the atty when fully screwed into the body of the Stick. I had to use "curved jaw Vise-Grips" to get an electrical connection. The LED light knows not that the atty is even attached. The LED is probably just "timed" in the circuitry. The curved pliers did well as not to distort and make the end of the atty "out of round" where as straight pliers would certainly distort the round shape of the atty. Nonetheless, I am quite pleased with the JS (Janty Stick). Vapor is "SMOOKIN"! However, I thought my order was to come with "blank dry" carts as stated from the vendor, but I got RY4 High carts. After Vapeing on one cart for an hour or so, I'm tasting a nasty burning taste that is a cross between plastic and polystyrene. (ok, 2 different names for plastic) I topped off the cart with Johnson Creek TennC that I have on hand, but the taste of a 9 alarm fire at a polystyrene manufacturing plant is still there!8-o ....I just added 7 drops of JC juice and the bad taste is still there. Is there a "burn off period" needed for the atomizer? Should I add a few drops to the atty to "break it in" (but NOT destroy it!) Should I give up and go back to analogs? NOT! I am kidding about that one:D At the end of the day, I want e-cigs to work for me. .....I just took another drag on the V2....the taste is similar to the smell of old wet tennis shoes that got wet and you put them in the oven to dry, (on "warm" of course). WTF is that? ö Sorry...but it is really nasty! I'll finish rambling now and gut the cart, refill with Fluval and JC juice. If the burning wet tennis shoe taste is still there, well, I promise not to make holes with my fist in the Sheetrock (unless it's Chinese Sheetrock!) I will say, the 1st "puff" tastes ok, however the 2nd, and if I keep "pulling" till the red light blinks, THAT is where the nasty taste comes to overpower.

Anyone with thoughts on this??

I couldn't get from your post if the bad taste started immediately, or grew to be bad. If it started out bad tasting, that's relatively normal for new atty's. Not all of them have this problem (usually attributed to the 'priming fluid' that the atty's ship with from the factory), but for those that do, I usually break them in with a cheap mixture of vg, pg and a couple drops of menthol. After it kicks in (very noticeable), I switch back to real juice. There are other methods that people promote to hurry this process along, I suggest you do a search and pick the one that makes sense to you. If, on the other hand the taste started out ok and then got bad, you may have gotten some polyester in the coil somehow, and that'll take a while to work out, if it ever does (most do, apparently). Good luck

I did remove the cartridge material, squeeze the RY4 from it and put 19 drops of JC Tennessee Cured, in the cart and most of the "wet burning tennis shoe" taste is all but gone.

This device ROCKS! :w00t: Especially if you "double clutch" it! That will almost knock your head off :p For me to get a "hit" from my RN4081 was like trying to drink a milkshake through a coffee stirrer. However, the V2 is the opposite :| As for the bad wet shoe taste, it may be that the atomizer gets too hot on a long pull. Or the atty is not yet broken in. I haven't "dripped" on the atty yet, as I only have one. That, and one should not need to "drip" if the device was made to do as it should. Anyhow, LOADS of vapor and Nic Buzz! I haven't had a true Nic buzz in all of my 20 years of smoking due to asthma. WoW! Smooth! The ONLY tobacco product I ever thought as "smooth" was a John T cigar, yet this vape is indeed smoother :)

If you want an electronic cigarette that looks like a genuine cigarette, then the Blu is probably the way to go. The RN4081 (super-mini) is similar, but does NOT have a PCC (pocket case charging) system. If you want to be "up front and center" as the "conductor of a freight train", then, get a Janty Stick! LOL ..and hold your ears while blowing a set of K5LA Nathan AirChimes!

BTW, here is a link for 500mAh batteries: above in the title line...
