I ordered the JantyStick pretty much as soon as it came out. At first, it worked like a dream. For about a month, month and a half. Loved it.

Then it stopped working suddenly. Flashing red light, as though the battery was dead. Tried a fresh battery, no luck. Even plugged in via the USB cable, it wasn't getting any juice.

Contacted Janty, and Ethan was -amazing- about getting a replacement out to me. Except.. the replacement was DOA.

So he sent me another, and I was full of thanks when it worked.

Now, three weeks later, I'm having power issues again. Started with a blinking red light as before.. so I swapped out the battery again, to see if maybe that was the issue. Now it's not blinking red, it's just.. fading. Gives me enough power for one draw, then that's it - light won't even come on when the manual button is pressed. I let it sit, plugged in via the passthrough cable, and after 5-10.. enough power for one draw. Then nothing.

Has anyone else had this many issues with the JantyStick? Any ideas/fixes?

Much much better, cleaner smoother and easier to navigate,

reviews dont seem to link (ry4 for example has 4 reviews on main list but none when click on details)

also want to see more behind the scenes stuff too, like the desk and display case shots that scroll across the top currently

We are looking into the reviews , and will fix this soon ( i hope =)

As for the pictures, once we have all the small bugs and fixes out of the way we will implement a large gallery section showing all of the pictures at the banner, and more, in their full sizes for your browsing pleasure.

I also have plans of equipping Ludo with a super-secret-ninja-spycam(tm) so he can take some pictures of the factory that Janty products get made in!

Hey Nevara,

This sounds out of the ordinary to be honest. Ofcourse there has been issues with Jantysticks, - everyone product must have some issues, or it would just be too damn easy! ;)

But this does sound kind of wild. The only thing that comes to my mind, is that you try to PM Ethan and arrange it so you can actually send the DOA and the failing devices back to the him so he can have a look at what might have gone wrong.

The only immediate guesses i have is that theyre burned down; Maybe you have a USB port providing too much power? Or if youre a dripper, you might not have cleaned it enough so that eventually too much liquid has leaked into the JS, making it shortcircuit.

Only guesses, but the only way to find out is if you arrange something with Ethan ; so id try to do that if i was you! Cause.. this is not normal Jantystick behaviour :)

I'm prepped and ready to send all three of the failing JSticks back to Ethan, just as soon as I hear back from him. Trouble is.. isn't JantyUSA going "offline," as it were, starting tomorrow and until the 15th? This does not bode well.

Not sure on the power output of the USB - I've been plugging it into my laptop's port. Pretty sure it's standard output, though, shouldn't be frying anything. And I'd think it would cause problems sooner than this, since I've had two of the JantySticks run fine for three to six weeks before dying on me.

Eh, all I can do is cross my fingers and hope. Should still be covered under warranty, but I'm starting to lose faith. :(

That sounds like the problems I started having with my JS after I started dripping. I evidently was using too much juice and it had leaked into the back part of the stick. Juice was oozing out around the top of the button if I pressed on the top of it.

I took the battery out, the atomizer out, used a paper towel to clean the juice out of both receptors (battery and atomizer) and set it upside down to drain for two days.

This happened twice and the cleaning and draining worked both times. It's still going strong.

If you don't drip, maybe you've overfilled your carts? Is there juice in the bottom of the atomzier shaft?

If this doesn't help, I say send them all back and get another one until you get one that works.:D

Good luck,
Beckah

I've been a 510 owner for some time and just odered a V2. I'm not going to go for the 510 adaptor until Janty nails it down and a bunch of people rave about them.

So this will be my first exposure to the 801 atty and carts (standard with the V2 right?). I've PTB modded all my 510 carts (I'm sold!!!!). Does the 801 cart do well with the PTB mod?

I have no problems using the PTB w/my 801's. You just have to nail down how short to cut it. I carpet roll it and then fold it in half (I use a whole tea bag). Also how tight or loose to roll it is somewhat of an art, but since you are already used to doing it w/your 510's then it should be a cinch for ya. And yes, the 801 atty & carts are standard w/the V2.

Hope this helps!

First off, I have two Janty Sticks, or rather I should say, I own two JS but one is in the mail. As for as performance I have not owned anything else that, when it is working, can out perform my JS. It is a workhorse. And not a dead one being beaten either.

Solid vapor production. Just keeps kick'n. Exactly what I require. I have had to send one back to Janty twice because it quite working, two separate reasons. Each time, "New box is on its way to you, send your old on in once you get the new one." Each time! No, "Lets talk a bit and try and discover the user error for its failure." Just, "Got a problem? Let's make it right."

Just exactly what I expect from a reputable company full of integrity. THAT EARNS my business. I will more than likely buy another Janty Stick making a total of three and the new Cameo when it comes out, just because I feel valued as a customer by Janty. And let me tell you, in this world THAT IS rare!

Anything that you have bought that did not last as long as you expected it to or didn't do everything that you expected it to; you know to the penny how much money you wasted on it. But anything that you bought that lasted longer than you expected it to and did more than you expected it to; you probably don't remember how much you paid for it. Add to that having a pleasant customer service experience with the company and 'Man, roll me over in a mud puddle and call me a happy pig!';)

I had a usb cable go bad...fortunately I had 3 other cables from my 4 sets. Have you switched out the usb cable? An open on the cable can work for a short period of time but decease over time. My 510 usb cable with in line batt did the same thing...design flaw in the thin cable which resulted in intermiitent performance but did not occur with the portable battery attached (so I knew it was not the atty being flooded, etc).

But it does sound as if juice has got into the body upon reflection! :) Duh....but I'll leave this post in case others have a usb poor performance issue because I haven't seen it posted anywhere else!

Beating a dead horse now..

You keep reviving that horse by making silly statements about how you and Janty are so wondrously ethical and proper Mik.

An example in your latest post: "Or the other way of viewing it could be that this would have been a nice way to keep our customers up to date" - just what did you keep anyone up to date on?

From your post before that, "Or maybe it could be that Janty is trying not to repeat on past mistakes, by showing something before its ready" - that's pure speculation on your part since you've avowed having no interest in knowing about that past. Still I think it is safe to say that if that's what Janty was trying to do, it has been quite a failure. The Cameo has been shown before it was ready.

Further down that same post you say "we have not promised you anything" - try reading your first post in this thread for a quick example. It says "At competition end time tomorrow, we will also reveal the cameo, and its features + some of the specifications!" Did you have your fingers crossed? Or perhaps it doesn't count as a promise because you didn't say "I promise"?

You started a competition with the unmistakable intention of generating excitement. And now you pretend to be surprised that people who were excited and didn't get the thing you excited them with are disappointed.

If you want people to stop kicking this horse Mik you really should stop giving them ammunition. Or even make a sincere "it was a screw up" apology instead of your ridiculous "we did everything right" "best intentions" etc stuff which makes your apologies sound insincere.

Nevara,

In my case "Blue fading light" meant faulty battery.
Below is one of my private messages with other JS user who had the same problem:

I found that fading blue light is caused by faulty battery. Finally caught one today fading out, but I am also remember that it took only 20 minutes for this particular battery to become fully charged.
My guess is that faulty battery suddenly drop from good voltage point to below the level that on board circuit protection could not detect, therefore red light will not come up but blue light is fading indicating voltage is dropping.

So far I had to throw 3 faulty batteries in a period of 2.5 months, but hey they are so cheap.

Hope this helps.

if this fading happens everytime after a few puffs, yes the battery is dead. i have that on the cheap dx very soon.

but i had it on a stick battery too, seldom but it happens, that it fades instead of blinking.

batteries in general are not reliable, so i never would go with only 1 or 2, always have some spares of these cheap things.
thats one big plus for the stick, very cheap batteries.

SO Mik, I just ordered a JS V2 (from Dietsmokes). Is the new Cameo gonna make me feel stupid? Please tell me it's not a replacement for the JS!!! I'm hoping it's a new, up-market model and that the JS is not discontinued. I don't want to be one of those suckers who bought the last 2 inventory units of a model that is now the same price only with all kinds of new features!! Is there any buyer protection for that with Janty?

Just give me something here for info!!

Mik
I was really hoping you'd reply to my post above. I certainly understand where Janty is coming from and I obviously like the company enough to put my faith in it by ordering a JS V2. I'm not asking for - or beating Janty for not giving - any specific info on the new Cameo. That's Janty's right to realease when they want. But my question is a reasonable one for someone who just ordered a product from you and is excited for it!. Is the JS V2 going to be "dead" when the Cameo arrives? Did I make a mistake buying it?

Thanks Beckah.. I'll try your tip of turning it upside down for a good day or two, once I clean it out. Just wish there were a way to open it up to make sure it's thoroughly clean, without voiding the warranty. I love the design of the JantyStick, like so many others.. but it's sealed up almost -too- perfectly. lol

There is a way to open the JS.

There were some early V1 posts with dripping/leakage problems and from what I remember, you can gently separate the sliver from the black case components - they just snap together.

That did allow inspection/cleaning of more of the guts than just where the atty is attached.

I'm not Mik. But no you didn't. New technology doesn't render the old obsolete. But a TV and you'll walk down the street next week and see something better.

The JS2 will always take the same atomisers and batteries which won't disapear.

I'll be enjoying my JS2 for a long time yet.
