If my Merlin started to seep I would be tempted to JB weld that gap^. I don't understand why it would be needed or effect the performance.

I'm just noticing that my liquid consumption has lowered to less than 4ml a day using ekowool in my Merlins. With cotton I was about 4.5 - 5ml... I keep a record of when I refill each of my Merlins. I use 2 different tobacco flavors just to keep from getting vapor tongue.

I really don't think that liquid can get thru that. Unless it's a really bad defective fit... But if it was, you would be able to just pull it apart by hand...

Thank you! The coil isn't spaced as far apart as last time but it works.
I have a Toptank Mini on the VT75.I was going to stick the Merlin on there but with my luck it would start leaking so I stayed with Old Faithful.:)
That is my Fathers burial Flag (Army). And my Uncles DVD set of Band of Brothers. He was a Marine that stormed the beach at Peleliu. So I guess you could call it a WWII Memorial.
Very cool, I just looked up Peleliu on Wiki and read it was quite the nasty battle for the Marines...

I have the Genelocity Giant on my VT75 now, but did run the Merlin on it for quite a while.

Great mod! I love the heft of it, especially with the Genelocity.

In other news, i was tightening the 510 screw back in and overdid it....now it spins freely on the insulator....but it stays in.

Do i need to replce the insulator....will it short or give errors in resistance otherwise?
Is the screw stripped or the hole??? These copper screws are too soft. I would try to find a stronger metal screw it it happened to mine.

The base threads are stainless or a metal, you prolly stripped the soft copper screw. I would be going thru all my attys to see if I can find a screw. I have copper foil for soldering stain glass, beef up the screw a bit with the foil and re-thread back in. The copperfoil might be easier to acquire than a screw to fit but depending on where you live I guess.

This is actually fun to do. I've always enjoyed taking things apart and making them better if I can. I am a firm believer in "share" since all my vape knowledge came from others who also "share" in forum formats and social media its just right for me to continue the process so others can partake in the knowledge.

Naaa....vaping is a very hands on hobby that requires one to tinker. If you decide to be a plug and play vaper then its going to get expensive and frustrating journey not knowing whats going on minute by minute with your gear and heaven forbid having something fail and not know a darn thing about your vape.
Great post! This should be stickied.
The best part of RTAs/Building is tinkering and figuring it out.

It looks like this…any idea what other metal I should look for….my o-ring guy sells all types…just need to know what I should ask for. I thought copper was the best conductor.

You would have to find a screw that is exactly the same size. I hear it makes a difference with the type of metal but I don't think that most of us would notice much of a difference with the type of metal tho.

My Uncle only spoke of his experience once to his Brother. All he would say about it was "it was hell on Earth".I didn't find out about where he had served until after his death but I do know he was in the first wave of men to hit the island. He was a very good man and I still think of him every day. Helmet for my pillow is an excellent read if interested.

Is that Genny on a Nano?It looks gigantic!!

I guess it was pure hell from what I read. Thanks for the book tip, I'll pick up the ePub for my reader.

That is not the nano, it is the full size VT75. The Genlocity Giant (⌀32.5mm) is not a Genny but an RDTA, it has a velocity deck and is using the stainless steel cables for feeder wicks. I have a pair of notch coils in it and she holds 12ml. :D

(15mm between the posts.)

It's based on the German Stil Vapor Genius², Shenray took it and put a Velocity deck on it instead of the old style 3 post.

I have the regular size Genelocity as well.
