Metal vs other drip tip - taste differences?

Could be me a new vaper, but I'm not liking stainless steel drip tips.....while the most solid, I honestly think they alter the taste of e juice.

Its like when you get that tiny bit of al foil in your garlic bread and you eat it, ting ting awful.....but on a more subtle level for vape.

Stainless, plastic, ceramic, acrylic, rubber whatever......fit, durability, heat absorption etc.......don't even mention cracking the teeth on the stainless, but for straight up vape, do different drip tips alter the taste?

Any recommends?

For me it's the opposite. When I vape through my Evod's, I get a slight plasticy taste. On my Mini Protank 2 the flavor seems so much more pure.

But some people are sensitive to metal, so you might be one of those. That's why the Mini Protank 2 or the Protank 2 with the removable tip is a great choice.

I won't drink Pepsi out an aluminum can, even though it has been stored there its entire life.

Perhaps the material in the drip tip has a subtle taste, or it could have an affect on the warmth of the vapor.

I don't know, but I wouldn't argue anyone's preference.

Yeah I'm with you, don't prefer the metal drip tip on my protank 2.

I'll get in on this...I much prefer SS tips. Plastics and aluminum have, to me, an "off" taste. Plus, I like the looks of SS. TEHO.

Same for me. The metal drip tip on the Protank 2 makes the juice taste like stale cigarettes for me. Ceramic and most plastic tips taste better. I do have one plastic tip that tastes like plastic, however, ew.

I prefer plastic over metal. I love my Protank 3 but had to buy a plastic tip to make it great. The smoketech aro is a great comprimise. looks metal but its not.

The diameter of the drip tip is what is critical to me, whether it be SS, Acrylic, or ceramic. A comfortable shape helps too. Most of my tips are stainless, and they work great for me. Fact all my rba's are full SS tanks, enjoy the clean taste they provide, and no worries about juice cracking or dropping them, unless my foot is in the way, then it hurts.

I don't mind metal but I prefer Delrin plastic. Meanwhile I have mostly metal tips on my vaping devices.. I don't how this stuff happens.

edit: I think it's because metal looks cooler.

I find the metal tips add a certain cold feel to the vape and I don't use them. I have a few that I got from the pro tank and my my fun lite and it's sitting collecting dust.

@Menzerman, It's not metal? That's the only reason why I haven't tried one out: The tips look metal, and can't be replaced!

I prefer plastic drip tips. I think metal tips look best but I agree about the vape difference. On a disgusting side note: I have noticed sometimes the metal drip tips will collect little pieces of lip skin. Nothing nastier than going for a vape and your drip tip looks like Dr. Lecter from silence of the lambs. ::fuhfuhfuhfuhfuhfuh::

If you don't like metal or plastic, delrin very nice.

Some might say that delrin is plastic, but they don't seem the same to me.

I love my acrylic tips. I have lost too much lip skin to metal tips.

I haven't had a single problem with the 3 SS drip tips I use, no effect in taste. Well, occasionally after a fresh cleaning they have a bit o' metal to them but it diminishes quickly enough.

I'm sure a pyrex drip tip would accommodate both durability and clean taste to anyone having a problem with SS.

I prefer the acrylic tips. I remove all the SS tips on my PT2 minis and buy tips on ebay to replace them.

I also get that Aluminum Foil kind of taste from a metal drip tip. I use cheap plastic drip tips myself, they are much more comfortable in my mouth than SS, without the annoying foil taste. YMMV!

Do not think they alter the taste of the pluid,
But they may alter the taste the vaper gets.

Some are more taste sensitive to metals
and do get the metallic after taste.

I use both SS and polycarb,
but lean more to the SS tips, it adds to a colder vape.

stainless/ceramic for me, I HATE!!! the acrylic ones, they feel so cheap and get ugly after a while
