Carding only works well when the accepted ID is forgery proof. it's easy for teens to craft a suitable ID these days. Templates are likely available on the internet for any state. Lamination isn't that hard to do, either.

Holograms are the key for detecting fake IDs.
I got carded for alcohol at a gas station a couple weeks ago, and they have a scanner they ran it through. Fake IDs are not that easy some places.
(I'll be 40 in 2 weeks)

RIP Michigan.

AND IT's MICHIGAN. If I lived there I would definitely need flavors. What's next no long underwear in the winter?

Anna
Michigan is quite wet because of the Great Lakes. Long underwear helps less than one would expect. The wind tends to blow through clothing more.

CALL TO ACTION!

GOVERNOR WHITMER EXPECTED TO ANNOUNCE EXECUTIVE ORDER THIS MORNING!

According to an article published in the wee overnight hours, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is banning the sale of flavored vapor products, effective immediately. Although retailers are being given a 30-day sell-through period, brick & mortar and online sales of flavored products are banned in the state of Michigan for the next six months.

Take action NOW by contacting your officials and urging them to oppose the Governor's reckless executive action!

NOTE: You do need to be a Michigan resident to participate in the CTA through CASAA's system, but you can contact the Governor's office via email or phone on your own. Especially if you buy from a Michigan company or you're a company that ships to the state.

Why haven’t they banned menthol cigarettes, flavored cigars/cigarillos, sugary energy drinks, fruity alcohol? The list goes on and on. I thought that progressive politicians cared about marginalized groups in society. Apparently, vapers aren’t worthy of such special treatment.

In Chicago, we tried to tax soft drinks, and the public fought back hard until it was repealed. I’d bet my entire life savings that they wouldn’t create even a fraction of that uproar if flavored e-cigarettes were taxed (or banned for that matter).

Banning custard flavours is acceptable.
Ladies wearing long underwear is not.

Obviously, never attended "Red Flannel Days" here in the states/MI.

Basically, tobacco and alcohol get a pass by the government. If your industry is rich enough to afford high powered lobbyists, you can get away with just about anything.

I started smoking cigarettes at 14. Colorado had no minimum age for tobacco purchases then. You just walked up and bought them. I smoked Camel Filters, which cost $0.45 at the time.

Not long after that, I had my first experience with vaping. With a modified flashlight. Ejuice didn't exist yet.

By 16, I had a great fake ID, and used it to buy porn and liquor. Still didn't need it for cigarettes, and never would.

In the late 80's we started seeing commercially produced vaping devices. They kept getting more sophisticated--and smaller. Much of it started coming from China. Ejuice still hadn't been invented yet.

When ejuice did come along, this earlier vaping technology was adopted by the developers of some of the earliest ejuice vaping equipment. They keep borrowing from that other line of vaping technology as well. Ceramic wicks/heating elements? Been using them for at least 10 years. Have already moved on to quartz wicks.

Because of this, there are vaping alternatives out there that the FDA can't touch. The manufacturers are starting to make devices with higher capacities. Anything that's marketed as an oil vaporizer is out of the FDA's reach, can be found even on Amazon, and is in a regulatory area explicitly off limits to the FDA--by law.

I'm 58, and I've been vaping for almost 45 years.

I'm exhausted.

At 63 years, I just don't understand what the hell is happening any more. Mass shooting?...ban guns for all law-abiding citizens. Vaping related (?) illness in 200 teens?...ban vaping products for all adult citizens. Can't afford all your shiny stuff?...let's reward you with a $15 minimum wage that you did nothing to really earn, or better yet, let's just institute socialism.

There is no longer any sense of personal responsibility and knee-jerk reaction is the order of the day.

It's tiresome, and though at my age I probably don't have much longer to deal with the insanity, I fear for the future. Thank god I don't have kids, though if I did they would be part of the resistance.

Consumate "virtue signaling", she and her supporters now believe themselves to be really really good people. She thought saw a problem (easy to do for the truly virtuous among us), she had to do "something" to prevent the problem no matter how ill concieved, so she set about punishing mostly those who were never were part of the percieved problem called the teen "epidenic".
