Well I finally got some sterile cotton last night. If Arthur and the Ritis family will leave my hands alone I'm planning on changing from my gauze over to the fluffy cotton today. Really wanted to go for a ride but the weather forecast don't look promising for the day. Kinda would like to try some different setups with my KFL today also. Right now I've got 2mm Eco wool at 1.2ohms. No where near a micro coil, but I think (pretty sure, positive in fact) I got too much wick in it. Oh well it's still early. We'll see as the day goes on.
Was sick all last week so guess I'll play it by ear.

Look forward to hearing your feedback. Hope ya get that ride in and you get to feeling better :)

I am anxious to see what kind of difference it makes in my Vape. Heck I'll try anything once or twice or till I give out.
And just trying to follow in the masters footsteps.

On a funny note. We had a customer come into the shop is he could learn how to build an AGA T 2. First thought was ( I don't have my supplies, touch or anything else with me). To my surprise they had another KID try and teach him. After a few HOURS he finally ask me to check his work.
He had a 0.9ohm trying to fire it on a SVD set in wattage mod at 8 watts.
No I didn't make fun of him and yes I did explain what he was doing wrong. After he got of his soap box and ask.

So I get a great tasting coil and wick but then it starts tasting off or burnt after about a day... Is that normal? Do you need to rewick daily?? I am not familiar with RBA's except the rm2. I have been using a 28g kanthal 8 wraps on a 16g needle but tonight went to 10 wraps thinking I was burning my wicks.

it makes sense to try that tactic: raising the resistance, but it could be other factors because 8 wraps of 28g sounds fine and shouldn't burn, unless the wick is drying up.
so i'd guess wicking issues.

other factors?
maybe too much wick, or wick in the wrong placement, coil placement to wick and airhole, i really don't know, but sounds like a coil I'd run without needing to rewick for at least a week.I can go with hotter coils but not have that issue. Maybe just lucky, but i did study a lot of those pretty wick/coils in the micro/Reo threads.

Try putting some pics up, and i'm sure more than a few here would have the answers.

It's normal for me. I love a fresh wick with the organic cotton that I use. With some "lighter" juices, I can go two days. But at the first hint of "off" flavor, I toss the wick and dry burn the coil and give it a quick sponge bath with a wet paper towel.

About once a week, I wash the entire atty under the faucet and clean all connector threading. I recoil about every two weeks with kanthal or nichrome and about every 3-4 weeks with R-41.

Also, certain juices build up a dark coating on the coil that can led to funky taste and cause the wick to appear dark as if it were burnt.

Sidenote:
I've stopped using the sterile cotton. The organic cotton is more robust and does not have a flavor of it's own. Sterile cotton had an initial "smells like a band-aid" kind of thing going on for me.

I think you're taking to many toots on a squonk. One can hit a wick that's wet enough to not burn, but dry enough to get damaged a bit. But if done regularly, it'll wear your thingie out.

Either that, or you're not saturating it enough to begin with.

So I'm getting some ribbon in soon, and I'm wanting to experiment with it. I'm gonna see if I can twist like the pros. I'm somewhat dubious, given my attempts at twisted 30ga kanthal, but we'll see. Any other good uses? Does a stacked ribbon micro work different/better than a trad micro using ribbon? (By stacked, I mean one coils is shouldered on top of its neighbor). Thoughts?

If you are talking about stacked magic (aka meat grinder) like in my avatar it is awesome flavor and TH.
So much so it is not my daily vape, but more like a water my mouth treat.
Adjusting the separation of the coils will change TH quite a bit with my fruity juices.
Kind of a battery hog though.
