The popular VTC series of batteries, originally made by Sony and now made by Murata, are often counterfeited. These fakes are often low quality, low current rated cells that not only perform badly but are a safety issue too. In this video I describe some ways you can detect these fakes.

The VTC5 does indeed have the four radial lines in the venting disk but other cells do too. Samsung cells also have the characters stamped into the venting disk so we need to also use the other ways to determine authenticity.

Yes. Only all signs should be evaluated.
As far as I noticed, VTC5A and VTC6 always have only " C10"
