Mini 18350 Provari

I figured you guys would appreciate this. Cut 15mm off the bottom and rethreaded it to use the stock cap to use an 18350 battery. I can use the extension cap to use an 18500 too.

I put a P+18350 to the left and a P+18500 to the right with a standard Provari for size comparison.

I mentioned something like this in the Provari Sub-Forum. Suggested calling it the "Provari Carry". They just Laughed at me.

What size Thread is the Cap?

It's a metric thread that I believe is unique to Provari. I don't think it would be cool to give out that info. I hope I'm not sounding like an .......I just want to respect the guys product.

I can understand.

I can thread gauge it anyway if I got Bold and decided to Chuck it up.

I had my Provari about 2 Days when I thought, "Why doesn't it come with a Shorter Tube and just get End Caps for the Battery you Want to Use?"

A 18350 is Perfect for in the Car or to Throw in a Bag. A 18490, which I use, is a Nice Ballance of Size to mAh. And of course, People are Allways going to want the Max mAh in a 18650.

Seems like you could have 3 VVPV's in one.

Just pop in the Battery you want and Screw on the Matching End Cap.

I really don't ever need or use an 18650. I use the 18490 at home and now the 18350 when I'm out. I carry two extra batts just in case. I've been using it for 4 hours and it's still going on the same 18350. Obviously that'll depend on your vaping habits.

I'm with you.

There comes a Point where to get more mAh it looks like your Hitting off a C-Cell Mag-Lite.

A 18490 lasts me a Full day. I have Two 18490 and a 18500 in rotation. Works Great. Allways have Two Fresh batteries.

A 18350 would be just a Tad Stelthier when on the Road though.

Wow man!, you got to have a pair to start buckin' up your provari. lol...well done! looks factory...did you hand it off to a machine shop or do what I usually do...have a couple cocktails, get an idea and grab the hacksaw?

I myself, have always wondered why some of the more popular tube mods didn't just have a couple different size "battery cups" or extensions,
instead of the telescoping pieces. ( seems over complicated and fiddly to me )

Strpr - Dude, no offense, but that is sacrilege what you did to those poor P18+'s.

I hear you...

With my background, I tend to look at Products from a Manufacturing Standpoint. So when I hold a Provari in my hand, I ask myself what is the Down Side to making One Tube Length and Extension Caps verses the Same Cap with Different Tube Lengths?

I don't see a Huge Downside. Perhaps the Length of Thread would need to be Increased for added Stability but that is Not really a factor in that Provari's are made using CNC Machining Centers.

But then I look at the Sales side.

The Provari is a Higher Priced item. Some people will Not buy it based on its Price. And these people are surely Not going to buy One for at Home and One for when they are on the go or as a Backup. But what if a Provari could fill Both Needs for Less than the Cost of Two Units? This is something any OEM would want to Seriously consider.

I want a Second VVPV for when I'm on the road. Something Small and Compact. I'm probably going to buy a Mini 18350 Lavatube.

Why a Lavatube and Not another Provari? Price. I just can't see buying Another Provari to use 30% of the time.

But if I could just Buy a Shorter Provari End Cap for 18350 Batteries it would be a No Brainer.

No hacksaw work here....All the work was done on a lathe.

I hear ya on the P+ mods....But I'm so afraid of dropping them, I wanted some added grip. There only o rings....I can take them off any time.

It's not that bad.

Just remember that for a Single Thread at 1 RPM, The Feed Rate = The Thread Pitch. Same for Tapping.

I've been successful once or twice but I usually make the mistake of not cutting deep enough (finding this out after removing the piece from the chuck) then try to recut a little deeper by engaging the feed drive and re-chucking so that the cutter is in a thread...arrrg! PITA!

I'm an electrician not a machinist captain! (said in a heavy scottish accent, lol)
