Hi.

Not bashing you in any sense as I'm in favor for clones in general (no way I can afford US$100+ for a original atty) but whats the point in a protank mini clone? Did you know it was a clone when you bought it? I mean, the real thing is 9.5€ here and the clone is 7.5€ so thats 2€ saved? I can't justify going down the clone path with a 2 bucks difference?

Anyway... you mentioned protank mini but not the version... we are talking about the "3" right? The "2" had shorter heads as it wasn't dual coil I believe?

Tony

Hi. No I didn't even think. I saw them in the mall and mine was cracked. I think the salesperson should have probably mentioned it. I wasn't trying to save money , just get another pro tank mini.

Yes, now I need clone coils. It works well. It had 2 coils in the box, but unmarked.

I don't know why the thread was moved to Rebuildable atomizer systems. This thread was about coils that didn't fit the supposed clone I bought of a protank mini. No one's rebuilding anything here.

Cost of course. You have to be very careful these days. There was a flood of "fake" Nautilus several months ago when Aspire couldn't keep up with demand. That drove prices through the roof so the clones flooded the market. I have a buddy who works over there and you seriously have companies across the street from each other copying the others products.

The clone is on the left with it's coil. The Protank mini and kangertech dual coil on the right. You can click on the pics to enlarge.

From what I know it's possible that's an authentic Version 1 Mini, the first mini glass clearo Kanger made. I still see the larger versions around from time to time. It's equally possible it's a counterfeit (Not a clone, which I define as something that's a knockoff of an original but isn't borrowing logos and packaging.)

Either way it needs the Kanger single coil units that are still being sold. The flavor will not be quite as good, but your juice and battery will last longer, and the coils are half as expensive (And rebuildable if you're inclined).

I still run a pair of Mini PT 2s with the new Aero bases, and prefer them to the similarly priced MPT3. The dual coil units throw off so much heat, and on tanks that small it has nowhere to go. My least favorite design of Kanger's recent offerings. Just my own humble opinion of course.

Best of luck with everything, don't write that tank off just yet IMHO.
