Certainly don't wish to take us off topic here but if I may, I would just like to show you one of my kids.

This is 50 year old Curly Maple, hand carved by me in my basement, listenting to Jorma Kaukonen while sipping really really nice Crown. You can see I was a smoker back in the day. No more!

The grain is brought out by using Nitric Acid, which darkens up only the denser grain, then lightly sanded to bring it out.

This thing has 12 coats of hand rubbed boiled linseed oil/varnish in a 33% mix with one part being mineral spirits. Rubbed down with rottenstone, then hand buffed with butchers wax.

I only have one drink a day!

As for the toys, I have a very stressful job. For years, after dinner I go to the basement or garage and immerse myself in wood carving or tinkering with Helga. She's a 73 Super with 92mm forged pistons, 78mm stroke = 2litres. She's got 2 44mm high rise webber carbs and hemispherical heads. The heads were hand cast by a 60 year old hippie in Norcal. He's been doing this for 40 years supposedly, learning his trade back when Beetles were the craze.

Helga puts out 170hp at the wheels so, given the favorable weight ratio, she eats young punks in souped up Honda Accords, Civics, Integras etc. Just smokes them. The kids pull up to me all the time wanting to race and are surprised to lose to an old fat guy

Long live old fat guys!
