I broke my minivapestack. I did fix it but it leads me to a question…

It started to misfire, sometimes running the atty well and sometimes with almost no vape and others completely dead. When I looked at the atomizer connection I saw that I'd managed to rip the white silicon gasket apart. This allowed the center bit to touch the outer threads thus making a shirt circuit. When it touched well that was the dead atomizer, if it touched lightly that was when the atomizer was on but barely and when it didn't touch it was on normally.

I also have a SaberTouch mod and I'd overtightened atomizers in it enough to squish out the silicon gasket but never tear it.

So I have a problem with overtightening atomizers and cause issues with the gasket. I was able to repair my minivapestack by taking a silicon gasket from my parts stash from unused 510 connectors. One tore when I attempted to stretch it over the center connector but the second I tried worked fine and now my minivapestack is all repaired.

I can always replace these 2 connectors for a few bucks so it isn't the cost but I'm worried I'll need to keep doing this every 2 months.

Do other people have problems like this or is it just me?

I have fibromyalgia and I think when I have great pain in my fingers I can't tell how much I'm tightening the atomizer and that's when I overtighten. So a suggestion to not overtighten isn't too practical.

Well, that is a predicament. It doesn't take much to make a connection. Perhaps you could hold it loosly (i don't know if you can gauge that well or not) and as soon as your fingers slip you know the atty has made a connection and there is no need to further tighten it. If that doesn't work, maybe you will just have to tighten it little by little and check to see if it fires. It may not be a perfect solution, but it might help.
Good luck,
Jay

It's such a common problem. We get maybe 3 or 4 visitors a week and we always make them try stuff and most folks crank and atomizer down like it's a lug nut :)

It's probably the biggest point of failure with all connectors. I do like Jay said, turn loosley until I get vapor and then back off 1/4 turn.

But pretty cool deal that you got your vapestack gonig again :D

We're always happy to fix them if there's issue though.

Its an electrical connection. I think habit makes me want to make it as tight as possible. Add on my inability to really feel and I'm sure I bear down really hard.

Does that mean as long as I keep a gentle touch the silicon washer should last quite awhile?

Definitely yes!
