Misjudged levels on first order

So, went with low (4mg) dosages of nicotine on carts, 0 nicotine on the juice (had gotten blanks - thinking I'd be going nicotine free in a matter of days.)

Which isn't working very well. Not horrible, but not as easy as I thought it would be. So I placed another order - balancing out the bottles of 0 nicotine I currently have with equal ml of juice that's low dose (all different flavors, but I see some definite mixing potential :D) From my first full day - seems that it's a really bad thing to try to go nicotine free while at the office when I've been smoking a pack a day for forever....or at least for now.

Most of my cigarette consumption has always been in the evenings when I'm sitting in front of TV or computer - and that has been mostly nicotine free this evening.

SingingWolf, I wish you luck with your efforts to kick the nicotine.
For me it took 24-36mg liquid to kill the desire for a cig. I enjoy my nic fix, I haven't even tried to ween off of it. But I can say, using 24mg liquid, I have zero desire for a nasty tasting cig. I have even tried smoking many times and just can't take it anymore (yucky) Now it's not even a matter of fighting the urg of "I want one", it's more a feeling of "I can't stand 'em".
I'll take a 24mg blueberry cheesecake over a burnt leaf any day. ;)

Oh and BTW: 2 pack-a-day, 25 years.

Yeah, its probably too low. I vape normally around 14 mg, sometimes as much as 22 mg. Rarely do I go as high as 36 mg, other than a couple drops on the atty for a quite boost. Aim high initially, and you can always cut it with a little glycerine. Be patient, though. It takes a bit in the beginning to get it right, not just nic levels, but carts working properly, making sure batts are charged, etc. If you think you need higher nic, and you probably do, get some. Your body will know if it is too much.

Being female and hearing from my mother and other women horror stories about nicotine overdoses during standard NRT, I ordered the 18mg liquid instead of 24 or 36. If it leaves me chain-vaping I can get a higher strength to save money, but I am not fond of nicotine sickness.

Also I heard many people mentioning they chain-vaped at first because their cool new toy was just too cool to resist using, so I figured starting out lower than standard would help with that, too -- I wouldn't be as likely to hurt myself the first few days.

I currently smoke about a pack, perhaps a pack and a half, a day of Virginia Slims Lights Menthols. So if that gives you an idea of my current nicotine consumption....

(I am SOOO anxiously awaiting my kit! The USPS is slooooowwww....)

I was a pack a day home-roller and started yesterday with 25-26 mg mic, and it's way too high for me. I ordered some 18 mg samplers to see if that works, in flavors too.

I don't want to go too low, but not too high. However, I got some glycerine to cut the 25 mg with and see how that works, but I don't have an empty cart or container to mix it in, LOL!

Coughing fit + nic gum = swallowed gum and nic poisoning.... not fun. really really not fun...and that was a light case.

Which is why I went ultra low. Still going to stay low but not planning on moving to 100% @ 0mg anytime soon.

And I moved from the VSLMs to the Misty Light 120 menthol due to pricing, but even those are up to about $50 a carton now.

When I smoke analogs....I am really only interested in the first few drags. After that...I smoke the rest of it mainly because it's already burning and knocking off the coal just wastes them. I actually liked when cig manufacturers came out with the "firesafe" ciggie that would go out on it's own. I could come back and burn the rest later.

Vaping at high nicotine is just the ticket for me I think. A couple high nic draws and set it down.

I started out with 24mg prefilled carts. Tonight I mixed up some 18mg and 12mg for refills. The 24mg gives me a ragging headache if I vape too much, so I am going to try a lower dose. I have been a 2 pack a day smoker for 20 years. I guess that just goes to show that there is no definitive way to gauge what strength juice equates to how many analogs you smoke a day.

That is correct. No way to tell. Some are fine at 14 mg or less, some need more. I was a 1+ pack a day guy, sometimes more. Right now 14 mg is fine, but then this is after I finally got my 510 carts to behave with a mod, and figured out the best DIY mix (I make my own juices with high-nic VG, VG, ditilled water and flavor). So it depends on the juice viscosity, the strength of the atty and batt, and how well the cart wicks to the atty. A couple drips of 36 mg occasionally is fine, but it will get me sick with much more vaping at that level.

And also, as for quitting analogs, nic is not the only thing some crave in tobacco. There are other alkaloids too that aid in the addiction. I have not 100% quit analogs, but most days I am down to 2-3, rather than 25+.

If in your first month or so, you invest into vaping gear what you would have smoked up anyway, you will set yourself up very well (with some research here), and it will help get away from analogs better. Be good to yourself, and you will thank yourself down the road.

I started at 24.....and waiting anxiously for my 36's. USPS tracking says I should get them tomorrow. I was a two-pack a day person, and if I see something higher than 36 at V4L...I will likely try it. :D

Maxx, MyFreedomSmokes has nic up to 48mg and some awesome flavors. They will even custom mix and for a little more you can even opt for added strength with the flavoring.:)
