I have several pairs of LifePO4 3 volt batteries from madvapes RCR123a LiFePO4 Rechargeable Battery that I'm thinking may be mislabeled. I just got a multimeter and my batteries are coming off the charger at 3.7 to 3.9 volts. My Silver Bullet is reading 7.5 volts on an unloaded firing. I'm new with the multimeter area of the hobby so I'm not sure if I'm doing this right. Any thoughts from someone who knows what they are doing with one?

I'm using the charger designed for them that Madvapes bundles them with. Haoba 3 volt RCR123a LiFePO4 Charger. The batteries have "123a 3 volt" printed on the side and I have four different sets (two dead) from three different orders that are all identical other than slight variations in the shade of blue.

I just took a set off the charger. One battery reads 3.61V's and the other one is 3.57V's. Stacked, you get 7.18V's. After a couple of uses, they drop down closer to 3.0V each. So you're right in your calculations. My batteries are also from madvapes but my charger is a tenergy charger. I have one like you have but it seems it takes forever for my batts to fully charge.

These aren't precision devices, neither your charger or I'm assuming, your meter.

3.7V is fine, 3.9V seems a tad high but it could be your meter. You might also try and see if one side consistently charges higher. My one charger always does.

BTW are you rounding off to just one decimal point?

Someone correct me on this if i'm wrong but usually for li-ion batteries the volt rating only means the average volt on them
like normal li-ion batteries are rated 3.6 or 3.7v but when fully charged have a voltages of 4.2v, same thing goes for IMR batteries. The thing applies for LiFePO4 batteries

Cell voltage = min. discharge voltage = 2.8 V. Working voltage = 3.0 V – 3.3 V. Max. charge voltage = 3.6 V

the 3.7v seems normal, but 3.9 v is a little bit high, check charge voltage on your charger, you should be using a charger that is rated at 3.6v and not the normal Li-ion chargers that are rated at 4.2v
