between here and there
I am currently vaping my first batch with Nicotine Salts. I am really enjoying how smooth it is. The problem is I still have my old nicotine stash. Has anyone mixed the two? What was they result? Is the mixture still smoother using the nicotine salt to cut the nicotine harshness?
I suppose you could mix them together, but I would seriously consider adding Citric Acid(CA) to your stash and make your own nic salts. @mikepetro has provided a link around here somewhere to how to do just that......hoping he will pop in here with it again.

Hmm... doing it that way might be cheaper. With that said, I am really happy with Nicotine River's nic salts and have a bunch in the freezer.

If you mix regular nic with freebase it should smooth it out some and decrease throat hit, and there is no reason that you can't use them together.

At some point when I'm not headless (4.5 hrs of sleep on Christmas eve, sigh-- ETA, it's not Christmas eve....) I may take a look at it though.... :)

Thanks Anna,I am a notoriously bad early riser so I can relate......

After reading The CA thread I was reminded I have a Sour flavor in my stash. Turns out it is malic acid, I tried out one of the fruit mixes that I had tried this in and low and behold it is smoother than without!! So I think I am going to play with some mixes with nicotine salts, freebase, and sour (malic acid) and see how it turns out. If that works I may look at getting some citric acid too.

Hello,

I use malic acid to prepare my nic salt.

Here is a simple recipe:

2 parts nicotine + 1 part malic acid (weight).

What i do:

1. prepare 100 ml malic acid solution (300 mg/ml):

- 30 g malic acid in a 100 ml bottle
- fill up the bottle with aqua dest. (H20)
=> 100 ml 300mg/ml malic acid solution

2. titrate the usual nic liquid by the MA solution

(i use)

- 100 ml bottle
- put 1 ml of the 300mg/ml malic acid solution in the bottle => 300 mg MA
(for higher nic concentration liquids use more MA solution)

- fill up the bottle by 6 mg/ml nic in VG solution => ca. 600 mg nic

3. PH test

PH of 6 mg/ml nic in VG solution is ca. 8
PH of 6 mg/ml nic-MA-salt in VG solution is ca. 6

by using a cheap chinese PH meter ;-)

4. Vape test

I am a nic mimosa regarding to nic harshness.
Thats why i use only the 6mg/ml VG.

Result: the nic-MA-salt in VG solution was very soft comparing to the only nic in VG.
And the salt liquid has no sour tast or any other taste.

Inspiration is from the paper:

"The effect of organic acids on e-liquid: Nicotine stability and relief of ..."
