Hello fellow vapers,

I am thinking about purchasing a bottle of unflavoured PG (18% nicotine), a bottle of unflavoured VG (18% nicotine) and a few flavour bottles. My questions are:

1. Can I just drip the appropriate amounts into a tank and start vaping, or is there a 'sitting' period? In other words, would the newly mixed liquid need to 'sit' for a certain amount of time before it's ready for vaping? If it does, how long would the sitting period be?

2. How long can the above ingredients last after I open the bottles?

Many thanks in advance,
Daniel.

your 'sitting' is actually called Steeping . and that really depends on the flavors you are mixing . And for the most part , how does the flavor taste to YOU . If it has a chemical taste , let it steep a few days to week . Try it again , if its still a chemical taste , let it go for about 3 or 4 more days . Keep trying it every 4 fays till it tastes good to you .

As for hpw long Nicotine base will last , is dependent on how you store it . Keep it in fridge sealed , should last for a few years . Yes , there are expiration dates , but if kept sealed and chilled , shouldnt have any problems at all . I keep mine in a box on the floor in the living room and had it over a year now with mo discoloration or other problems .

There is a site that shows how nicotine can degrade over time , but as for going bad , dont think in a year or so it actually will .

I actually mix then vape on 99% of my home mixed juices . There are very few that have to sit and steep for any length of time .

Good luck ,

You could drip straight into the tank with the unflavored. But, for mixing... why commit to a whole tank when you don't know what you're getting? Mixing is a bit of an art and will probably take some time to get your mixes right. I'd get some bottles and mix into those. They are dirt cheap. Then pick up a cheap dripping atty like a 306 or 510. Then you can taste your mix before committing it to a tank.

A freezer that keeps food frozen solid is fine for long term storage of nic base. Mine happens to be at -10 US (that's 10 degrees below zero) and that's very frozen. PG and VG don't freeze solid until even lower temperatures, but they do get thicker when frozen so, for easier measuring, it's best to take out what you need and let it come to room temp before measuring for the final juice.
