All mods all batteries must be carried on. The reason for this is their thinking if a battery starts a fire in the belly of the plane everybody dies. Make sure you get battery cases like I did. Goes right through the xray machine no problem. But you can't put it in your checked luggage. The juice you can. I've flew 2 months ago so I don't know if they changed anything

It's idiots like that who will be responsible for them eventually probably banning mods altogether on flights.
I agree only a complete ..... would put batteries in checked bags anyway. But you're right I'm seeing the ban on them if this doesn't get straightened out. Irresponsible people ruin it for everybody

I don't think it will result in a ban. First it shouldn't have been in there. Second they'd have to ban all rechargeable devices from the cabin and no one is traveling without their phone, laptop, tablet, and who knows what else. But it does give vaping in general bad press.

No ban.
Mods aren't the only things with high powered lithium batteries in them : laptops, tablets, smartphones, etc.etc.

The rule is simple. Anything with a battery goes with you into the cabin.

Keeps the TSA happy and keeps you happy too :

Checked baggage gets often tossed around pretty hard ( plenty of clips on YT of that ) and occasionally fleeced for valuables by dishonest baggage handlers. Nobody's going to pinch your ratty shirts...

IDK what TSA does to you, isn't there a fine?

But, I do think the vaper should get a fine, but also the folks who are checking the luggage. It's unreasonable to expect all flyers not to be idiots. However, I guess it is equally unreasonable to think all TSA agents do their jobs proficiently.

The last study I read on the "secret shopper" version of the TSA system where they test the agents as far as getting things through (including homemade bombs) they didn't to TERRIFICALLY badly, but not so super hot shining A ++++ etc. either. I imagine the situation has not changed.

I don't think the TSA has made us that much safer. It has created more Federal jobs that is for sure.

I kind of think it's NOT that much safer mainly because most terrorists are like, "C'mon? Planes? We're not doing planes again, there is NO WAY we will top 9-11, don't even bother."

I mean, I do think terrorists strategize like that, if they are at all smart and crafty, (which I am assuming some of them are) so they don't even bother and the occasional TSA incident is the odd crazy person, not a terrorist.

I would think the intelligent terrorists of today are looking more and more toward the internet and stuff and hacking. I mean, if I was one (I'm not) that is what I would do. Also, I'm not ADVISING anyone to do THAT or lay off planes, so terrorists, just keep planning what you are planning I am no one important.

Yeah, I do have mixed feelings about TSA but I mean..... The government really legitimately had reasonable grounds to go postal over that one. What else could they possibly do?
