OK,
I'm still debating whether this belongs in 'technical' or not, but I've been told to put it here. If I get this working then it would obviate the need for, risks associated with and expense of batteries for at least the times when I am near a wall outlet.
Can anyone tell me if this (sort of thing) has been tried, and assure me that I will not blow up my VAMO ?
(I make 5V*3A=15W so that ought to run the thing at full tilt (or near enough) - will it decide that 5V is a discharged stack configuration and refuse to work? - it would be easy to set up the regulator for 8V if this is the case)
So, from a newbie thread :-
But, with all this talk of explosions and whatnot I would like to try one of these :-
Mic4576wt 3a 200khz Reg
on the end of a surplus to requirements laptop power supply (19V 40W) in the 5V 3A configuration and use this to power the VAMO as a 'pass through' when I'm at home...
