After over 3 years vaping on my Nautilus, I recently started craving cigs again, outta nowhere. I have always wanted to try getting into subohming, but have never been able to do it successfully and never really knew why. I had a lot of issues when I first started vaping so I chalked it up to my body just being picky, as always. So I was talking to a vape shop owner about something unrelated and I brought up that I wanted to try, but haven't been able to. I have bought SO many subohm tanks and it just never worked, I'd get really bad headaches and chest pains, despite making the obvious changes (lowering nic, raising VG, ect.) and he suggested I could have a PG intolerance. We experimented with different juices with higher VG and left my nic where I was (only 3mg) and as soon as I got juice that was over, I'd say about 75 VG (70 is still a little much, but doable), the headaches and chest pains, and that annoying throat irritation went away. So I've been subohming now with the Smok Stick V8 kit (with the big baby beast) for 2 weeks, with no issues, for the most part.

The one issue I do have has to do with the mods I own. I have 2 of the eVic V2 minis and I don't vape higher than 35-40Watts, but they can't seem to keep up, even though they go up to 75Watts. As soon as the battery hits about half way, the mod doesn't want to keep going, it'll fire, but reads 'low battery' and it's SO weak! I also have ONE IPV D3 still hanging around that fires the tanks just fine, so I'm not sure why the eVic won't. So now I'd like to find at least A mod (for the other tank), but don't know where to look since the other mods I have won't run it, even though it's rated at a much higher wattage. I thought about getting another D3, but they're in short supply.

So! After all that (probably completely useless) information! My question is what would be a good mod to subohm with that ISN'T dual battery? I know that may be a tall order, but even after all I've done in the vaping community, I still don't know enough about the dual battery mods to want one! I won't mind an internal battery mod, but that or single battery is the only thing I'm really comfortable with at this time. I've thought about the MVP4, and that's still an option, but as of right now, it feels like it's the only option, not bc there's a lack of 75-80Watt devices out there, but bc I don't know which ones to trust.

I figured we probably did lol. I've got them back on the eVic's now, I MAY have figured out the issue, but I won't know until the battery drains a bit. It's showing between 11 and 11.4A and it's a .25 ohm coil. BUT I can't remember if I was using the other coils (that came with the tank) in my tank at the time, those were .15 ohm and I just read on the specs that the eVic only goes down to .15 ohms, so maybe that was the issue? Idk how that works, and like I said, I can't remember if that was the coil I was using those few times I tested it out.

Idk the exact volts on the battery, I just know that as soon as it hits halfway, it does that lol, it's really annoying bc I really do like these mods! And my life would be SO much easier if I didn't have to go searching for new mods again! My husband HATES when I have to find new mods lol. He's especially not happy that it came with an unregulated mod and in his head, well, I just bought two mods! I tried to explain, I ONLY got the whole set up bc it was only like $6 more to get the mod AND tank, vs just the tank. And they're great for on the go, but they can get a little hot for my taste, so all day everyday isn't really working out too well for me lol.

Exactly, it's like you had a great coupon!
You would have wasted money by not buying them. Lol

I use the 40A 3200MAH green IMREN batteries. I hope it's not an issue, I just bought 6 of them in March lol.
Those are definitely not 40 amp batteries. Rewraps with highly inflated specs, possibly no higher than 10 amps (check if Mooch has tested those batteries). You might be pushing or exceeding the capabilities of them. Buy only authentic, high-drain batteries by Sony, Samsung, or LG, from a trusted vendor.

As for amp draw, the amp display is useless. It shows the amps at the atomizer, not the battery amp draw. The way you calculate is:

Watts / mod cutoff voltage = amps. Add 10% to account for mod inefficiency. The resistance of the coil doesn't factor in on a regulated mod.

Mooch has. He's gotten 17 A and 10 A from different batteries - seems like they may have changed what they were rewrapping:

Imren Green 40A 3200mAh 18650 Bench Retest Results...now 10A, shame on you Imren!

At 10 A, you can only go to about 28 W safely, so it's no surprise they crap out half way through a charge. They're being greatly overworked and are likely already damaged and unsafe.

@MrsP0721, please get some of Mooch's recommended batteries from one of the reliable vendors listed on the bottom of the chart:
Mooch's Recommended Batteries | E-Cigarette Forum

With a 20 A battery you can go to about 55 W, so if you want to go higher than that you'll need a 25 A or 30 A battery.

Vape on, and vape safely.

10A Max Continuous, Rated 40A Max Pulse ... what does that mean? I knew going into subohming was going to cause issues! Didn't realize it'd be with batteries, but I can't do ANYTHING with vaping without some sort of screw up and it's getting really annoying! All those batteries on 'mooch's' list, are low mah, except for the one that says it's copied a lot!

Continuous discharge rate is the maximum current of which it can be discharged before failing.
The max pulse can not be relied upon and is the short burst...
To get cdr (maximum discharge rate) amps you have to sacrifice mah & run time. To get mah & run time to have to sacrifice cdr.
I hope this helps!
