Hey all, I'm looking to go from subvod c device to a better mod with a long battery life. I'm on a fixed income with no give so I need something under $100, significantly less would be ideal. Thinking about getting one with a rebuildable coil option, but want option to buy ready-made coils too.

Advice, tips, and suggestions for the best battery life mods in my price range, *would like to have option to adjust wattage & temp control. TIA

Your Subvod is 1300 mAh. You could get just about any mod and still use the Nano-C tank you are using. An Istick 40w would get you up to 2600 mAh on its internal battery and run around $25. An Eleaf Pico would be a good replaceable battery mod but you would need to add a couple of 3000 mAh batteries and a charger...could do all of that for $50-60.

Welcome to ecf, Davs.
There are so many MOD & Tank that fit the bill. Take a look around at some of the vape sites. Find some kit that you like and compare them. I would suggest you go with a 2 battery MOD that goes up to 120W to 180W that way you have room to grow into what ever you want to try. Also using a MOD in that range at 30-50W you do not have to stop and charge batteries all the time.
Good place to start is here at Vaping.com. The link is at the top of the page.

If you like the tank you can find just a mod to replace your subvod and keep the subvod as a back up, one with TC and very long battery life would be the Kanger Kbox 70watt (comes with an internal 4000mah battery that charges via a Micro USB (Android) connection, for probably less than $30 to $35USD. I've been happy with mine though it is one of my many backup units, it is also my primary grab and go on the move device and works well with a Kanger Subtank (Bottom Fill)/Toptank (Top Fill) Mini (basically the same tank just fill methods are different and use the same coil heads and rebuildable coil sections, the Nano tanks can't support the rebuildable though). You might even find them together in a kit will all you need for less than 60 to 70USD.

Hey there, you definitely have the right idea for saving money. I started vaping when I had to go on SSDI and just couldn't afford smoking anymore. 4 years later, I'm a huge vape geek. ;)

For a good, cheap mod, try the Eleaf Pico. You may be able to find it cheaper, but here's an idea.
$25.83 Authentic Eleaf iStick Pico 75W TC VW APV Box Mod - 1-75W / 100-315C'(200-600F') / 1*18650 at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

There's tons of options, though. I do recomend that kind of mod with an external battery, because if something goes wrong with the mod, that's all you have to replace. You can still use your batteries on a new one.

Get at least two of either of these batteries, so you can charge one while using the other.
LG HG2 18650 3000mAh 20A Flat Top Battery
Samsung 30Q 18650 3000mAh 15A Flat Top Battery
Depending on how much you vape, a pair should last you 6mo-1yr.

This is a good solid (and cheap!) charger.
Nitecore i2 2 Channel Battery Charger

If you want to start rebuilding your coils, that's where the real savings kick in. There's a small initial investment, but after that you're pretty much set for life.

These are both great little rebuildable tanks.
$20.64 Authentic UD Goblin Mini RTA Rebuildable Tank Atomizer - 3ml / stainless steel + glass / 22mm dia. at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

I can walk you through what wires to get, tools, point out some youtube howto videos if you're interested.

If you aren't mixing your own liquid, you should start. You can spend pennies per ml instead of dollars. Again, that's an initial investment, but very much worth it.

Hope this helped, good luck, and feel free to ask me or the forum anything. People are great here!

I second the Eleaf Istick 40 TC mod that is made to charge internally. Mine just fine and on it's second year.
An external battery can cost double the cost of a internal in: external charger, battery wraps, safety holder, the battery itself, meter, and so on.

With deep well RDA's (Magma, Origen V1 & V3 ) and my high ohm build, I get a good hour or more out of one re drip fill plus all day with out a battery recharge. If I place a rubber sleeve over the air holes (I made a custom drip tip plug) and if the RDA gets tipped on it's side, no leaks.

I haven't used large built in battery mods for quite a while, but back when I used smaller ones I went with Innokin. Their MVP 4 is on My Vapor Store for $52.95 and it looks like it fits what you are looking for if you want to avoid external batteries:

Innokin MVP 4 4500mAh 100W TC Box Mod

That doesn't come with a tank, though, so you'd be stuck with the one you already have. If you want to get into rebuilding or you just want a tank upgrade it's probably better to get a kit because you usually get a break on the price of buying things separately.
