Ive been reading these forums for a while but never got around to posting...

Ill post this here for now till I can post else ware

So I order a Kanger Protank direct from Kangers preorder and got my 3 Kangers about 3 weeks ago.
They hit awesome! But tonight I got a little bored so I decided to hack away at my Vamo and a Kanger Protank.

Here are the results, its a pretty dull color in person.

When you san down the Kanger and Vamo you first get to a reddish layer then under there is the goldish metal

What do you guys think?

Looks great! Wondering why Vamo needs an adapter to fit? Doesnt look like yours do.
You don't need an adaptor. If you read the thread I sent you to in your thread you will see that I was advised to use an adapter and screw my devices to that to protect my vamo threading as some people have had trouble with it being fragile. :) It will work without the adapter.

I must of missed that post! unfortunately my kanger protank wont work without it. Not sure what happend. :(

Some of the protanks (and evods, and cheap CE4's) have a center post that doesn't extend as far as the others. The solution appears to be to push the center post out so that it extends a fraction more and it will work. The problem is that the bottom edge of the protank hits the bottom of the cup and stops it a fraction before the center post contacts the 510 center connection.

I had this problem with CE4 clearos on my ego-like devices before I bought the twists. There seems to be some different interpretations of exactly what the ego specifications are. The strange thing is, I couldn't see the difference between the ego-like batteries and the twist batteries. Obviously the collar is longer on some devices, but I just couldn't see why they would work on proper Ego batteries, but not on the ego-like batteries.

Edit:
If you take a protank or evod and screw it hard down on a Twist or Spinner battery it may push the pin in, thereby making it NOT work on a Vamo or other ego-like threaded device. This may explain why some people are having problem and others are not (the ones who do not, do not own a joytech devices, or don't screw them down hard, or were just lucky and got devices with hyperextended center pins. I've learned the hard way not to screw stuff right down on my twists.

The Vivi Nova mini is an excellent design in this regard as it's the only device I've seen with a spring loaded center post. I can screw it full down on any device without worrying about the center pin. I'm about to experiment with cartotanks, but now that I've worked out a good head design for the vivi's I may stick with the minis unless the DCT work better for me. Still must try other stuff like bottom coil clearos (kangers et al) if my local supplier starts to stock something.
