Then dremald slits in the top insulater (this was abit rough)

Put it all together abd it squonks beautiful (better than my RM1)

And sucks back the residual (if only they all did :p)

The insulator mod has me a bit nervous, especially if it allows the center post to be at all sloppy now.

You do know you can just buy drilled center posts to convert a Zenith to a bottom feeder?
Yeah ive seen them but im in australia so ill ether have to pay $30 shipping for a $3 item (express) or pay like 10 bux and wait a month for it.....

And yes the whole insulater mod is what has me pondering thats why ive been using it on my ipv as that has short circuit protection

I think it looks fine, like it wont move or short, seems to be enough insulator left that the post will hold it in place and to hold the post in place
I did throw a build on it .43 when I had it on the ohm meter I wriggled the pos post and there was no fluctuation on the meter...
Ive had it on my ipv at 50w for about an hour now and its been working flawlessly.

That was also a spare base I had im thinking about doing the same with the other base but taking my time and making it more crisp.
I just whipped that up quickly to see if it worked.

I did something similar to my A6. I used the rotary cut-off wheel and just sliced straight up the insulator. The open area of the insulator is narrower than the center post, so no worries with shorts. The white Delrin is firm enough to maintain the pin. Used some needle files to de-burr the work befor ere-assembly
