Do we post Association of American vaporers in the company name field?

Hmm, not sure. I'd have to check how it looks online this year where to add that. I'm gonna go donate my first donation of a buck and check.

Rocking that last digit! :D

EDIT: Ok, there is a link to make the gift in honor. Click that, choose "other" and enter it in the box. That's probably the best we can do. The other is "In memory of".

I need help though. I know not everyone reads the general section, so the word may only get out to 15-20 people. I need help. I don't want to post a thread in the news section or the e-cig sections, as it would be cross posting. So, if any of you can change your sigs to point to this thread for the next 36 hours, maybe more people will see it and respond.

I don't want just 15-20 people to donate, I want 1000-2000 to donate minimum.

Any help you all can give will be appriciated. This cause is a biggun to me.

Big Jim.....I dont always agree with everything you have to say...but this time I will throw in my support for this great cause. I have been involved with the MDA in one fashion or another since I was a kid myself(taking part in those backyard carnivals you mentioned)I'm not wealthy by any means...but have always set aside a few buck for Labor Day Weekend and the MDA. Ed may be gone....and the stars don't "sparkle" like they did yeras ago...but the cure has still not been found....and every doller goes to helping those who have this terrible illness...Wheelchairs,Summer camps ect. Thank you for mentioning this here...I would imagine it will generate some additional support and $ for this worthwhile cause!!:)The Wiz!

Yeah, I remember those carnivals. The last one we actually put together was about 15 years ago. And it was no run of the mill backyard carnival like the ones Rex Trailor used to advertise either. It was pretty sophisticated. One of the best we put together.

My friend Mike and I had Batman and Robin as special guests, and I was to play Robin. The costumes were pretty authentic for the time, but, well, still required wearing leotards. The Italian Workingmens Club allowed us to use their facilities and property for the carnival. I had to change into my Robin costume in the rest room of their bar. Imagine my embarassment when I had to walk past a bunch of dunk Italians wearing a skin tight jumpsuit.

The carnival was larger than we anticipated. We managed to raise over $3,500.00 that day.

We were not only mentioned, but we got to present the check live on TV during one of the national telethon breaks when the local affiliates cut in with their pitches. "Batman and Robin" presented the check. Imagine standing in front of a TV camera for the entire state to see wearing leotards. 8-o

(Rhode Island is a pretty small state and the TV stations reach all over)

In the end, it beat all the cat calls and whistles I got parading myself through a bar room of drinking Italians. It was fun and worth it.

I was wondering if Jerry Lewis still smoked? I just did a search and came up with the transcript to a CNN interview with Jerry and Larry King. It is dated Sept. 2000. Jerry said he smoked 4 to 5 packs of cigarettes a day. Also, that he stopped smoking after heart surgery. http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0009/01/lkl.00.html

Really good idea you have here Jim. :)

Lewis was a heavy smoker. They used to have to empty his ashtray every hour during the telethon, being up for 22 solid hours. The year he quit, he came onto the telethon with a big bag of lollypops.

Thanks everyone who is participating. This means a lot. :)

I think one point should be made clear. This not only is for a great cause, but underscores the fact that Personal Vaporizers can not only SAVE the life of the user by quitting analogs, but also give us extra resources (cash) to help others with these life threatening diseases.

The PV has taken a beating in the PR department. Now is time to step up to the plate and make a stand.

When it is over, I will be releasing a Press Release to hopefully be included in Google News.

Think about it for a moment. Wouldn't you much rather have that extra $10 kicking around to go to a kid who really needs it? Or line the pockets of Big Pharma, big tobacco, or fat government, or slimebags like that ASH idiot Banzalf who would rather execute smokers then to help them? The choice is yours.

Hi Jim,
I don't usually post much but your call for donations hit my heart. I will be donating in the name of American Vapors Association. I will also see that friends and such do the same, this is a good cause. I would also like to give kudos to Illustrated man for directing me here. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

I'm hoping for the domino effect. Everybody calls and urges for donations. The telethon starts in three hours.
