As someone only one month into vaping big-time, I wanted to share my experiences with some of Don's juices. Even when I'm a newbie to something, I try to tune in to what the experienced have to say, so I quickly jumped into the fray by pulling bridges out of my atties, getting into low-resistance atties, ordering myself a shiny new Ali'i mod, and sampling a variety of Don's excellent BWB creations. I'm a geek at heart, so vaping is a wonderland of goodies for me in that regard. ;-)
Disclaimers aside, here are my thoughts on some of the BWB creations I've tried over the last few weeks.
Nutty: Fantastic hazelnut flavor - not sweet. I feel like I have just eaten a handful of the most delicious hazelnuts. On top of that, it has a wonderful, deeply satisfying hit. If my eGo battery is fading and I feel like I'm not getting vaping satisfaction, I can always count on this one to deliver. I immediately restocked with a 30ml halfway through my 10ml sample, and I am sure I will always be keeping a bottle of this around.
555: This one threw me at first, and I wasn't sure what to think. Initially, I thought it was unpleasant in some way, but something about it made me curious. I came back to it little by little over the course of a few days, and at some point it clicked - this one benefits greatly with steep time, and now when I crave it, nothing else will do. Also re-stocked on this when I realized my 10ml sample was running out. I find it hard to describe - I imagine that this is what an expensive pipe tobacco might taste like, though I have no basis for this comparison. It's complex and elegant, definitely a "grown-up" flavor.
Dulce de Leche: Lovely caramel flavor. When it first arrived, it had virtually no throat hit, it felt like breathing air, but with lots of flavor on the exhale and plenty of vapor. After a few days to mature, the lung hit factor kicked in, and is now a very, very satisfying vape. Very smooth, and satisfying. I might be inclined to mix this with some of the Nutty.
Maple Tobacco: An instant favorite, also re-stocked with a big bottle. Something about it reminds me of the 555, but an easier flavor to get into - I liked it right away without developing a taste for it - it's a deep and rich tobacco flavor - the maple is not overly obvious to me, it blends so nicely with the tobacco. Definitely a good all-day vape.
Waffles - At first tasted primarily of butter, now has a nice balance of maple, waffle and only a little butter - probably leaning towards the maple. Like the Dulce de Leche, it was too smooth at first, and after some time developed a much more satisfying hit.
Strawberry, Cherry Tobacco, Applewood: These were the first ones I tried, and I loved all three from the moment they arrived in the mailbox. I instantly knew they would be my favorite juices. Unfortunately, I have some kind of sensitivity to whatever adds tartness to juices, and I discovered the hard way that I can't vape these, lest I get a bad stomach burning sensation that only guzzles of Pepto can help - possibly due to stomach surgery I have had. But I also discovered that this is the case with just about any fruit/coffee or spicy flavored juice from every vendor I've tried - and I have found hardly anyone else who reports this reaction, so please don't let my experience scare you off of these. My situation is unique, and I would be vaping these every day if it weren't for that issue. I am in mourning that I can't use them, because I really enjoyed them all.
Casablanca - I had an odd experience with this one. The predominant flavor, to me, is cayenne pepper, and/or crushed red pepper. I wondered if my senses were fooling me, because every description and review I've read of this mentions cocoa and mocha, which I didn't get at all. This was after a long steep (swapped with another forum member who had it for a few weeks). I actually kind of enjoyed it, and it literally cleared my sinuses - but, due to the potential for spicyness to irritate my stomach, I have to pass on this one. Again, my experience with this flavor is so unique compared to everyone else's comments, that I would not go by what I am saying - you really have to try it for yourself.
Blast - Not your typical cinnamon flavor at all - very smooth. I will proceed with this one with some caution - if it doesn't give me any spice-burn I'll keep coming back to it - do not hesitate if you are a fan of cinnamon.
Vanilla Bean - This one tastes very buttery to me, even after a few weeks - and has barely any hit for me. But, since I know there are so many people who love it so much, I'm saving it for when my VV arrives, so that I can see if it shines through at a higher voltage...Perhaps it's because I ordered this in 12mg and not 24mg like the others, as I wanted to have something around that I could vape in the middle of the night that wouldn't wake me up with a nic buzz...perhaps this one is better in 24mg...
