So everyone helped me figure out my kanger issue the other day (the battery shorting out) but now I am running into another one.

I have 2 Kanger protanks and 2 batteries, one for me, one for the lady. Since the fix everyone on here suggested with mine, its been working perfectly. But now my ladies tank isn't working so well. When I got home and we were together we both noticed the difference in the hits, mine hits wonderfully and produces clouds of vapor, with hers there's not much of a hit and not much vapor at all.

I tried her tank on my battery and vice versa and the results were the same.

Where should I start looking for a problem to fix this issue??

The tanks are only about 2 weeks old, the juices are different flavors but same brand, same pg/vg and nic amount.

Everything seems pretty secure and in place. I just watch how to take the tank apart and clean it, going to take the heads apart and see if her's is gunked up or not!

Thanks everyone for the tips so far! I'll let ya know what happens

Well as you find out, if the coil is not giving you what you need (burn taste etc) than you need to pull it and see if the coil and wick near the coil is all blacken. Than you need to clean it. Usually for me its about 3 to 5 tank of vaping. Wash hot water, rinse , dry burn, wash and rinse again. Than it should be good to go.

After a while (some are a few cleaning cycle, some are done in a couple) than you need to replace the head.

Meanwhile you should think about getting some back up (I suggest mt4 or EVOD.can be rebuilt or coil replaced for cheap..) Which are the same built as your tank>>>>I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. It won't be the first time neither!! My advice is back up > back up > back up!! You need backup battery, back up to your tank , back up coil heads and back up your juice.

Now rebuilding..... Are you ready for it? You will need to measure Ohm (either a mod with Ohm readout or multi meter). Learn about Ohm and Volts. Obtain Kanthal wire and wick. Watch a few video on how to rebuilt coils on Utube and read and read and read....

I don't recommend it at this stage.

Cheers.

Thanks for all the info! As far as the wicks go, i pulled apart the heads that I had and one was really gunked up and black around the coil, I rinsed it and then did a dry burn....my question with the dry burn, will rinsing and dry burning get the wick white again? it jsut seemed to stay pretty dark even with a few rinses and dry burns. Can you dry burn it too much and damage the wick?

As far as ohms and voltage go, I'm all set. I am a guitar pedal builder so my multimeter is my best friend! Just need to get the technique and the correct parts!

Burn it for less than one sec. Wait........ Again....... Wait. When you see your coil red hot.... Do it a few more times and you will see the coil clean and wick all back to white....

So you are not getting as much cloud as your other one? At this point I would suggest replacing the coil head. Also check and see if the contacts on the 2 tanks are the same, The positive contact may be pushed up into the tank and may be not making a good contact.

Start reading and watching Utube up on rebuilding since you have the Electronic knowledge. Kanthal wire and wick can be obtained from flea bay for cheap. I'm sure others will chime in with other sources.

Regards.

If you are using a ego battery you may want to think about using a 1.8 omh coil. For your higher resistance coils you should be using a VV battery. I can really tell a difference when I use some of my higher omh on my standard ego's. They will draw much harder and get hot quickly near the top of the battery. It seems to put stress on the battery.
As for the cleaning...the will get a little whiter but once burnt you can't undo a burnt wick. If they are just a bit dark that is ok. Since juice is pricey and if you don't know for certain if it is spent or not just get either some plain vg or pg and test it out..you can always dump it in a separate juice bottle and use later. Of course there are quite a few people who just use unflavored..or add some flavoring to it. Amazon sells kosher food grade pg and vg for 32 oz for just under $13(free shipping if you have prime)

Have to get all the gunk off.
I pulse 3-5 seconds or until nice orange glow. Let cool and blow off. Repeat until Wick is clean/white.
Battery may need charging once done, if not fresh........and I don't recommend using a fresh battery to dry burn. To easy to pop a coil.
Make sure the wick is Dry before installing or Water will reduce Flavor/Vapor until worked off wick.

Some think you cannot clean a burnt wick. Silica does NOT burn and is only holding burnt liquid. The wick can be completely cleaned to almost New.

Rinse clean every Tank fill or two depending on Juice color. Light clear(2/tanks) Dark(1-2) Dry burn every 3-5

Dang! Thanks for all the info guys, this forum is the best!

So I've now cleaned everything out, seems to be working better now. I've just been used to cartos where i just toss them after awhile! I guess now that i've stepped up to a big boy tank (or big girl) i need to start treating it that way.

Oh and I just ordered some kanthal wire and some wicks...gonna try and rebuild one and see how that goes!
Next week once my paycheck comes in, my buddy and I are going to try are hands at mixing our own juices too....I'm all about the DIY!

Since you have progressed to rebuilding your wicks and coils, I'll tell you that I dry burn mine every couple of days. Now I know these guys on here are going to say I am nuts but I can replace a coil and wick for pennys. I also don't subscribe to the 1 second burn. I run mine until they are glowing brightly while lightly blowing in the top with flavor wick (the top loose one) removed. Sometimes this takes 2-3 10 second bursts. (I can hear the "pros" gasping at such blasphemy!) My coils usually last a couple of weeks to a month. You have to realize a couple of things:
1. Kanthal (nichrome is the same stuff essentially) wire is used in resistance heaters you plug into the wall in the winter. They many times use ribbon but it is the same stuff only bigger. Ever notice how that wire gets red hot and runs for hours? The stuff is designed to get hot and glow so don't worry about hurting the stuff. Remember if it "pops" then worst case scenario is replacing the coils and wick... about 20 cents or less.
2. Silicon wick does not burn at the temperatures an atty operates at and it will mostly become white again when it is clean.

Now that I have stirred the hornets nest up I hope this puts some "real" back into your clouds of vapor.
Hope this helps.

That,s the thing, We both have 2.5ohm heads in our tanks....everything as far as our set up is exactly the same.

And no, we don't have VV batteries
I had the protank on a standard ego and wasn't happy with it
Took one of the wicks out and put it on a spinner and its totally different.
Happy with it now:)
