Some more questions from an [expletive deleted] New Guy:

First, I'm using an 808 two-piece system and plan to stick with that for awhile for two primary reasons: convenience and simplicity. For the time being, I'm not going to change to anything else, mods, rockers, or otherwise, and any questions I have about the gear are just about cartomizers and 808 stick batteries. I do have some questions about some other stuff though.

  • Why are juice strengths the amounts they are: 0,12,18,24... Why not 5, 10, 15... or 10, 20, 30... ? Since the juice is sold in metric amounts, why isn't the concentration similarly metric? Is six a magic number or something? Why not 7(seven's a much better number, seven days in the week, seven toes on a cat, like that): 0, 7, 14, 21 ? How do sixths figure in the dilution of the pure liquid. I know there's something real obvious here that I'm missing and I'm gonna feel like a dope when I finally learn it, but I gotta know what it is.

  • How long do cartos last, without cleaning them out, just refilling them? I have a deep personal commitment to indolence and sloth and don't want to clean anymore crap than I have to.

  • How long can I expect an 808 stick battery to last before it's no longer useful?

  • Where are the + and - poles of the battery where it connects to the carto?

  • How durable are these things?

  • Who the hell is Nicky Minaj and why is her name popping up every which-a-where lately?

  • What is the history of this site? Who started it? When? How long ago? How did it get so big? Seems like there's an interesting story here.

  • What's the history of ecigs? I know they were invented in China but who and when and how and where, etc.? Another interesting tale.
  • Are there any ecigs blogs that are not mouthpieces for companies?

  • Does saliva collect in the carto?

  • Is light at particle or a wave?

  • Am I the only person that thinks about this stuff? Should I seek professional counseling?

Ahh, jeez, guess I oughta throttle back on the coffee and the pass-thru. I think I'm gonna take a nice soothing Valium and rest for a while. Actually, I have now gone longer without tobacco than I ever have before, maybe 50 years. And one of the best things about ecigs is that I can carry one around with me and just take a couple of drags whenever I get a craving for a smoke, chills me right out. With cigarettes I always felt like I had to smoke the whole damn thing once I lit one, too expensive to waste.

1. Don't know

2. It varies depending on your vaping habits and the kind of juice you use but generally they will last 3 days - 1 week.

3. Again, it varies. Somewhere in the range of 2-10 months

4. Center post is positive, threading is negative.

5. Not very.

6. Never heard of her.

7. Don't know.

8. Don't know.

9. They exist but I don't read blogs so I don't know where to point you.

10. No.

11. Both.

12. No.

1) No clue, some vendors use different %s from others though.

2) Anywhere from a day or two to over a week. Depends on liquid and how much you vape.

3) Depends on use, expect 6-12 months average?

4) Depends on battery manufacturer. Centre post is generally +

5) I wouldn't go dropping them regularly, or sitting down with one in your back pocket. Some are known for being more durable than others.

6) I dono? Apparently a musical type person. I like beans, they are the musical fruit.

7) I don't know, just know I love it and give two hip thrusts to the creator(s)

8) They were invented by an American (Herbert A. Gilbert) in 1965.

9) I don't know, I pretty much frequent ECF primarily. Blogs tend to be ads these days.

10) Not unless you're a heavy drooler. In that case you may need to go for a walky in the park and stop vaping silly dog you're not a human!

11) It's both, and with enough focused light I can cook beans.

12) Nnnnnnnnope.

  • I think because it works as a percentage. e.g. 12mg/ml is 1.2% nicotine. 24mg/ml is 2.4% nicotine. That's my best guess. (Sorry - left out the decimal point before)

  • How long do cartos last, without cleaning them out, just refilling them? I have a deep personal commitment to indolence and sloth and don't want to clean anymore crap than I have to.

I find some are about 8 refills, some more. A lot of people dont try cleaning cartos. I clean them sometimes - it's as easy as putting them in a pot of boiling water for 15 minutes then leaving them somewhere to dry. Works for me.

Depends on the battery. Usually up to 300 complete charge cycles - but some brands are better than others.

  • How durable are these things?

Don't take it scuba diving.

  • Who the hell is Nicky Minaj and why is her name popping up every which-a-where lately?

She likes Roman holidays, and bass, and being provocative.

  • What's the history of ecigs? I know they were invented in China but who and when and how and where, etc.? Another interesting tale.
  • I believe e-cigs were invented by a guy in China named Hon Lik, who was a smoker. His company started Ruyan - an ecig company. RY4 ejuice is named after Ruyan.

  • Are there any ecigs blogs that are not mouthpieces for companies?

  • Yeah, lots of em, including mine. I only started mine recently tho so have just done one review on it at this stage.

  • Does saliva collect in the carto?

  • I don't think so. You can get it on the drip tip tho.

  • Is light at particle or a wave?

  • That's relative.

  • Am I the only person that thinks about this stuff? Should I seek professional counseling?

  • Nah - just get some Nicki Minaj.
