The only failed vape item I've bought was an egrip. The reason was leaking. I have a theory that any atomizer system where the air supply is a straight shot to the bottom is going to be prone to leaking because of the capillary effect of that stright path downwards.
In this case sticking an oring over the center air shaft right where the coil head meets it fixed the leak 100%. I do get some condensation out the air intake at the bottom on occasion but I REALLY have to be chaining it for that to happen.

The only thing I won't ever do is buy more than 1 of the same thing.

I am generally the same. I like variety.

I will buy different models/finishes from the same manufacturer though. I like having my SS, brass and copper Nemesis authentics as an example.

I DID recently buy a second almost identical GP Paps X Lux at less than 1/2 price as it was too cheap to pass up on one of the best mechs ever made IMO. Hey, it has a different coloured airflow ring, so it's different. ;)

No regrets. It will be an heirloom one day. The history of a lifetime of use will be a story unto itself.

Well I don't plan on kids but if I change my mind I hope they never smoke and need the vape gear.

I'm sure they'd prefer the money instead of beautiful Gus, GP mods and a box of regs and sub ohm tanks.
But...
They'll get what their given ;)

Okay you wanna feel better?
I have about 130 mods that sit collecting dust.
Authentics, clones, customs..
I probably have 20lbs or so of atomizers. In weight.
However,
I use a scratched up $14 brass AV optic clone with a cloned $8 Goon RDA.

Ive blown a few grand on gear I will probably never use again.

Ugh...now I need a sammich.

Luckily you should be able to recoup some of your initial "investment" if you decided to sell some of your collection.

I have only been vaping for a year and a half or so and am already looking at the full size Tritons, Subtank Nanos, Goblin Minis, Snow Wolf v1 and tons of cheap RDAs and think... "Why?".

My wife and I have saved about $8000 in cigarette costs since we quit smoking, and that's how I look at it.:thumb: I have spent a crap-ton on vaping but not $8000.... I think.:)

P.s. 130? You're my hero! :p

I wish I knew more about mods when I was "throwing" money away on cigalikes. I would probably have my own little vault of mods and atomizers collecting dust. Most expensive: probably the Therion that was custom engraved and polished....which I rarely use since I don't wanna scratch it up lol. My daily driver is just a little ol Alien wth alternating atomizers.

Investment?
Lol.

I would get a better return if I had invested in NASCAR collectible plates.

Nah..
Im savin them for the zombie apocalypse.
I can stuff an old 18650 and a penny in them, crank them tight and throw them like grenades.
:p

You have Franklin Mint in the US? Too bad I didn't stock up on the Royal Wedding collectables. Great investments.

Most of my mechs are useable but more than a few of my FT specials are basically cheap crappy tubes. Maybe I can cut them up and sell them to my guitar friends as boutique and custom slides for their guitars... :)

All of my mechs work.
Unfortunately I tend to gravitate to the quirky stuff, and the honeymoon ends when I have to clean them every few days and have to disassemble them into a pile of parts.
(GI revolver, im talkin at you!)

Thats when I just grab a brass tube and roll with it.
Im not really an AV fan but they are super simple and can be totally disassembled without tools.
