Most frustrating experience I have had in some time!

Really really sad.
Went to a vapor store before Christmas, picked up a Joye and some juice. Really liked it, went from 2 packs to a 1/4 pack of cigs within days! Then battery troubles, vendor exchanged batteries, said I must be a heavy user (I am), then he exchanged atomizer, it just was not the same as when I started.

I went to the next stage, bigger battery, bigger tank. Taste was different, was not enjoying it as much, then battery problems again, vendor exchanged charging unit. Then I had to buy some replaceable coils to get a better taste.

Got fed up, went looking for more juices, better flavours, something to get a good taste. Purchased a couple of different flavours, tasted like cough syrup, promptly gave them away, I knew I was not going to use them.

Went to another vendor tried their juice, bought some, thicker and sweeter, battery still going dry quickly, flavour still off.

Bought some flavours with different nic levels, 24, 18, 12, 6 and 0. Kinda good, but kinda not.

Nose and throat started to be irritated, might be a reaction to flavour, nicotine or PG.

Went back to smoking, while I figured this out.

Looked on this website for advice, been following it for a month or 2. Decided to try organic juice made with 100% VG.

Upgraded to I2, upgraded to kanger T2, got some good bottom coils.

Now I have Vapers tongue? Tried everything I have, mixed the juices up, all crap!

I am about to ditch this until the tech gets better or I get smarter.

Very frustrating, thanks for letting me vent!:(

Fortunately, vaper's tongue will go away. It was one of the more annoying vaping weeks I had, though.

I have to admit it, I laughed. It sounded so much like my beginning experiences. My solutions may not be yours, however!

While I found I like the Kanger T3, I'm currently having an issue where every new stock coil I put in leaks like a sieve. Apparently Quality Control was asleep at the wheel that day or something. Most are getting tossed straight into my rebuiding pile, which is becoming annoyingly large. On the up side, I'm almost out of stock coils and about to go to pure rebuilds.

I couldn't find a set of liquids I liked. Some were OK, some were pretty good, but stellar, no. I finally turned to DIY to fix that, but I'm the DIY sort on most things (except car ones where I'm mostly useless).

My batteries occasionally annoy me. I haven't found a solution to this yet, but may end up tearing apart a Volt X2 for the innards and mating it to an electronics box for the ability to replace the battery with a stock 18650 IMR. Have soldering iron...don't travel, actually. :)

Everything is solvable, but it sure does take time!

Vaper tongue will pass - most of us get it. Your tongue is trying to heal after years of abuse, so it reboots from time to time. You'll hear plenty of folk remedies, but I've had success with vaping menthol (you can feel it, not just taste it), increasing oral care (especially mouthwash), and drinking lots of water.

Equipment can be had that won't let you down. A good pv - something like an iTaste MVP, zmax, or provari (last one is a bit pricey) - won't poop out on you within weeks. Throw a post up in here asking for recommendations and you'll get more info than you could imagine. Coil units need to be cleaned or replaced from time to time. That's just a fact of vaping. Some guys build their own and replace them every 5 days, but they're really into this scene.

Juice is a journey. It's the most subjective part of vaping and will probably take some time to dial in. Try a ton. I recommend a company called Jugheads. They're Canadian, ship online, and have more flavour options than you'll need in a lifetime. They're also world renowned for quality.

The last thing is - and you're gonna hate this - relax. Don't focus too hard on making this work. Let it work. Smoke as you like while vaping as you like. You'll end up preferring the vape. Garranteed. No prizes for switching cold turkey. Nobody's time table at play. This is for you, and by you.

dont give up i was at the same point then i finally found a device and tank that finally made me happy!

Thanks for the comments. I do have a iTaste MVP, I think that is where the frustration lie's.
Picked it up Friday, thought my problem was solved for taste etc. I was wrong!
I was like a little boy going to have a piece of chocolate, but somebody put garlic in it. (True story btw).

Yes, I will follow the advice and hope I can get a good flavourful vape yet.

I can see pickle with the vinegar working to startle the taste buds. Thanks I will try this.

So, give the tongue a lashing, eat a pickle, drink water, drink coffee, and brush. Not bad advice.

I am now going to brush, floss, glare at my vaping equipment and get some sleep for the 5 AM MST Hockey game.

Vapour Tongue sucks!

Hey I noticed you are in Edmonton. Was River City Vapes one of the shops you went to? I found them to be very knowledgable and helpful, haven't tried any of thier juices but they are supposed to be good.

Vapours tongue will go away but it is frustrating and makes everything taste awful at first. Try some of the suggestions listed above, but also switch flavours often to try to weaken it.

I find Jugheads makes the best juice but it can be frustrating to order from him since he is only open on Thurs nights @ 7:00 but his juice is heads and shoulders above the other juices I have tried. Just push through it and the expierience will get better. Also get the required 5 posts and come join us on the Canada forums here. Hopefully things get better from here on out.

I have bought from 3 different places in Edmonton so far and then got some from Crystal Liquid through the mail.

I think I have not found my best set up yet, though the iTaste MVP seems to be a good mod, have to work on a good tank for it though.

The funny thing is that the no nicotine ecigs you get at the store such as menthol or coffee have actually a good flavour to them. That is why I bought some 0 nic to see if I could reproduce the effect.

The evod, protank and vivi nova all seem to be the most popular because of their ease of use and flavour, I suggest starting with one of those. I personally love my novas and carry 6 of them with me at all times.

I really suggest you try Jugheads. His juice has a ton of flavour and is well priced.

I have a ton of his juice and I would offer to let you sample some of his flavours but I live 45 mins north of Edmonton and not sure when I'll be back in the city. If you are still having problems I'd gladly help you out next time I am in the city.

Edit: also remember that some juices require time to steep, a juice you buy today can taste very different in a week or a month as the flavours mix. Some of them are like a great soup or chili where they taste much better later.

Just don't give up and vape as much as you can while supplementing it with smoking and slowly you'll find yourself smoking less. It's not about the cigs you have.... It's the ones you don't.

If I get vapers tongue I'll go to a menthol for a while, also pure vg juices can sometimes mute flavors, maybe try a regular atty as well and drip for better flavor. As for battery life, I prefer something with a removable battery so I can always have one charged. If you want some quality vape juice try vermillion river ejuice. It's some of the best I've tried. It's a lil pricey but I promise it's worth it. Keep you're head up and you'll make it over this hump

Try some Velvet Cloud Vapor. A little pricey but worth it. Your juices might need some steeping to get the flavor you are expecting (I have vaped some chocolate that tasted like soap to me initially but after a week actually tasted chocolatey.) The Velvet Cloud are ready right out of the mailbox (once they get to room temp), or at least that has been my experience with them. If you like chocolate and banana, try their Monkey Business.

This is the most important piece of information you could get from anyone! The vapers tongue WILL pass. There is no prize for switching over immediately. If it happens then you will find yourself fortunate. If it doesn't, then you are among most! The most important thing is that you don't give up. You will find that if you keep after it, one day you will realize that it has worked and you didn't even notice! That is how simple it can be if you give it a chance to work.

Have you tried any other style of cartomizer/clearo? I have yet to find a clearomizer style topper (Evods, T3, protanks ect) that puts out decent flavor. I use an IBT carto-tank setup because the flavor and vapor are outstanding. Don't give up yet. There is a setup out there that you will love, just gotta figure out what works best for you.

I have noticed that switching to the t2 tank resulted in a loss of flavour. I have tried a couple of different setups, but am still searching for the "One".
