From what I understand, MBV starts at 15% flavoring, then adds 5% per shot. 3 shots gets you 30%. If you don't like it, order some unflavored in your nic and ratio, then mix it back down a bit.
Sorry to interrupt this post with a slight change of subjects, but I'm learning to make my own juice and so far it's coming out tasteless. I started a post inquiring about it.

I mentioned that I've been bumping up my flavor percents to around 20% and still end up with no taste. People are saying my percents are too high. But your saying from what you understand MVB starts at 15% flavoring. Plus, they can add another 5% if requested. That seems like a total of 20%. And they can even make it 30% too.

Mine doesn't work. Too much flavor is killing the taste. But it makes MVB flavor taste strong.

I'm confused.

Thanks for any input that helps me understand what I seem to be missing here.

Ah well it's gonna take a while to steep at that ratio and that amount of
flavoring. If in the end it's too flavored, get some unflavored and mix it down.
I do that a lot with juices that use too much flavor.
Also when I first started vaping and for about the first year, I ordered 1 flavor
shot in my MBV juices. Now I don't order any but I don't like a strong flavor.

I used to DIY so let me see if I can help. What brand of flavoring are you using?

I
I'm using The Flavor Apprentice.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Ok. I am familiar with TFA so that's good. When I did DIY I used wizard labs everything pretty much. That is the pg...vg...nicotine. You said that you keep increasing the flavoring with no luck...so if you haven't already you could adjust the pg/vg ratio. Remember the pg is the throat hit, and delivers the flavor more. Have you tried different flavors? Are they all flavorless.

I'm using The Flavor Apprentice.

From what I've read--merely a rumor as I gather they won't confirm it, understandably--MBV uses mostly Flavor West as their concentrate source. The difference may lie there. MBV also offers up to 5 flavor shots, which is 40% flavoring by volume. I consider that way too much. But you've also got to remember that they've been around a while, and may be catering to a customer segment using less powerful equipment and wanting more flavoring even if it only helps in perception.

If you like MBV, maybe try some FW flavorings. Try a single flavor like Cinnamon Bun (or whatever you like), and mix several small batches at different ratios (10%, 15% and 20% for example). Can you taste them? Try again a week later, then two weeks later. You should be able to decide if you've found the right supplier, and get an idea of the amount needed for your taste. Taste is an area where "one size" definitely won't fit all.

Coincidently, before I came across this post. I had just finished checking out the MBV website and the FW website, trying to track down who's the manufacturer of the concentrates. I have never tried MBV. I do have a bottle of FW cherry crush flavoring, but I got pulled on the TFA bandwagon and never tried it.

I'm gonna to have to try some MBV mixes and then possibly order my flavors from FW.

Thanks for insight.
