Autumn id go the route of finding something flavor wise she go nuts for and being like try this. Heck or get her something to jazz it up, my fiance wasn't keen on the idea of vaping till she saw she could get a kit with a pretty purple led she came around. She still is transitioning with it but shes doing better comming around to it. It's hard for some especially hardcore long time smokers....imo find somethig to appeal to things she coulf relate to estically and I bet it will be an easy switch.

I agree get her a nice pink or purp ego with a clearomizer, charge the bat and fill it up for her with something she likes..snickerdoodle or something so she is good to go everyday. I did it for my wife and she has been cig free for 4months now... we bought four 4 day passes to disney with the ten dollars a day that got put in a jar instead of the cash register.. good luck

I must really be weird or just like flavors that are super intense...funny to me - I can't understand dialing back on the flavor that is the main flavor of the juice....i.e. dialing back the apple and upping the nuttiness...you totally end up dialing back just the flavors I crave. Have you ever thought of offering the option of adding extra flavor for nutjobs like me?? :) I'm sorry, I know I have said this before and I understand the concept of using customer interest to make changes...it just sucks that its done to the flavors that I love....ok...my rant is over....still love you guys forever!!

We're sorry that you feel that way about the update. I do really think that if you try Applewood again you will be pleasantly surprised that it still remains true in it's flavor. The next time we have something going out to you, we'll send you a bottle (remind us!)

Brandy & I both felt the need to make a blog entry to discuss the recipe tweaks, and (possible) future changes that may be coming to our line ups. We really hope our honesty in this is a good thing and not a bad thing. If you're interested in how we come to the decisions to do the things we do, and what we are looking towards in the future, you can read about it here: MOV Blog

Afternoon all! Hope everyone is doing fantastic today. I need some help today....does anyone have any suggestions for how I can get my sister to start vaping? When I first started a year ago, I outfitted her with some KR808 batts and some flavored carts. She has not really even given it any kind of try - other than just messing around. The thing is - she lives with me and smokes in the house - AND - she is unemployed and in the process of getting disability, so I'm paying for her cigs....any suggestions would be welcome....thanks everyone! :)

I've been trying to get my sister to stop for a while now, she is up in new york. What we did was set her up with one of those ego twists..

She was at our house for a few days (5) and so we had some time to really sit down. At first she wasn't in to it... then she found the red drop.... she has really made a great effort to make the switch to vaping now! I think for her she just had to find the right flavor.

For my tastes, red drop would not be the one, but for her it was. We had her try about 7 or 8 different flavors before we landed on this one and it was the only one she wanted to vape from that point on, after a few days with red drop she was down to almost no cigs (one in the morning one at night).

Now, I'm not suggesting red drop is the cure here at all (or any juice that we make for that matter). What I am saying is sometimes it just takes finding that one flavor that really works (for her). Once she figures out what vaping can be, there will be no looking back!!!

I had to edit this to also add this:

A person has to WANT to quit smoking cigarettes. I think each and every one of us can probably agree we genuinely wanted to quit when we made our switch to vaping. We made vaping work for us. The fact of the matter is, even when switching to vaping, you do go through the withdrawals. You have to work through it and stay committed and that i think is the responsibility of the individual. To genuinely want to quit.

i find if you hand vaping to someone who has no interest in quitting, they won't think much of it. hand it to someone who is actually trying to quit, you may have a vaper for life!

Irish, thank you for sharing your story - your wife is pretty smart and obviously loves you very much! I know you didn't see it that way at the time though!!! That's what I'm going to do - buy her one carton every two weeks and tell her THATS IT! Then on the sly I'm going to get her a setup and see if I can find her a juice she can vape. Just tell her its hers and see what happens. Thank you so much for your support!! :)

One other thing I have found out.. If you give them an ecig for free they are less likely to use it. I found this out with the mods I make. If I give it to them for free they don't use it. If I charge them for the parts they are more likely to use it. It's a mental block that all people have. I gave one to my sister inlaw and she never uses it. I sold one to my own brother and he didn't smoke he uses chew and and he uses it.
I have given a few away and sadly they won't use it. They are more likely to say it doesn't work for me..
It's just a flaw that we all have as people, we don't really care unless it's coming out of my pocket.

Keep us updated I hope this is a success story for you. I truly love hearing about people quitting. I've introduction at least 10 people to ecigs at work and half of them completely quit smoking the other half cut back dramatically.

That's interesting Az, I always thought it had to do more with their WANT to quit. I think they may be one in the same. If someone WANTS to quit on their own, they will go out and get one for themselves to do so. If you are giving it to them for free, it's more like you're pushing it on them rather then they actually want to quit, and in the end you'll get something like "it doesn't work for me" when really it's just that they were not ready to quit smoking.

When someone is ready, vaping is a great solution!

I honestly can say this Gripper Mod has not left my hands today.. I don't even know where my Provari is??? I am loving the 4 amp device.... I never really had a good grasp on amp limits and there effects...

I guess it's time to send the Provari in for it's upgrade.

Just curious at 4amps are you vaping at less voltage... I found 4 amps I vape at much lower volts. Usally around 3.9-4.2..

wouldnt know Im still using my trusty old Ego with a ce4...... I just like the compact size

Gripper is definitely light weight and compact, another reason I'm enjoying it I guess.

So basically I've learned that Amperage is a calculation of Voltage and Resistance,

If you're using a 3.7V device and you use a 1.5ohm cartomizer, your device must be able to support roughly 2.5 amps? 3.7v / 1.5.

I believe my old provari V1 only has a 1.5 amp limit, so given that it's useless for me to vape at low res. The newer ones have been bumped up to 3.5amp. The gripper is 4amp, anything higher seems to be more or less wasted on a 6v device.

6V / 1.5ohm = 4 amp limit which will put you at like 24 watts... There are some easy to find calculators online where you input resistance, ohms, and it will tell you amps/watts. But most devices have built in Amp limits so just need to know what your device is (basically it won't push past the amp limit it will automatically reduce voltage to meet limit).

Anyways it's all crazy but it really does have an effect.. I didn't know until I experienced it. "The more you know!"

Thanks guys! I read the blog and I do understand that you have to make your decisions in the best interest of the big picture and not just one customer. I truly didn't mean to cause you any grief...

Now in this rebuild atty world trying to figure out amps versus volts, versus ohms versus battery life, versus juice is insane. Me being very geeky I love it all.

Well, when you figure it all out, maybe you can explain it to me! I just don't get the rebuildables or the amps!! duh...
