Happy Friday, folks! Ready to quiz?

There are eight screenshots below, most of which should be fairly recognizable if you've seen the movies. The question is: which of the movies can you identify?

Please answer with movie numbers only, not titles. .

Bumping the thread and dropping a few hints...

#1 is a recently-made prequel to a hugely successful sci-fi movie franchise that got its start in the late `60s. Charlton Heston appeared in the first two installments of the series.

#3 is a superhero comic book adaptation made by Guillermo del Toro. The gruff, cigar-smoking title character keeps his horns sanded down, because he thinks it helps him fit in.

#4: Four directors collaborated on this movie, creating four different stories that combine to tell the tale of Ted the bellhop's first night on the job. That's Ted in the picture, and one of the directors is playing the character on the right.

Hope these help! I'll post a couple more some time tomorrow.

    in a cave, eh?
More hints if you need 'em:

    1. I'll give you the quote from the original movie that spawned a franchise, and you guess this more recent movie (a reboot): the story of Caesar.

"Oh my God. I'm back. I'm home. All the time, it was... We finally really did it. [screaming] You Maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! .......n you all to hell!"
    2. A tall, lanky former Simpsons writer and current talk show host apparently had a wild past as a virile, axe-wielding, fur-bearing, cranium-smashing primitive. ;)
    3. That's David Hyde-Pierce, another member of the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense (BPRD) in this story of an unusual big red superhero.
    4. An anthology comedy film telling four stories set in the fictional Hotel Mon Signor in Los Angeles on New Year's Eve.
    5. From the writer who created Total Recall and Blade Runner comes this futuristic tale of PreCrime, a specialized police department, that apprehends criminals based on foreknowledge provided by three psychics called precogs. It stars Tom Cruise.
    6. The story of a Marine officer, Robert Duvall, whose success as a military aviator contrasts with his shortcomings as a husband and father.
    7. A black comedy written and directed by Bobcat "let's set Jay Leno's chair on fire" Goldthwait. :D A single father with literary aspirations covers up the accidental death of his son (by autoerotic asphyxiation) by forging first a suicide note and then his son's journal.
    8. A parody of the silent film genre where the only spoken line comes from the famous French mime, Marcel Marceau. Did you recognize Mel Brooks, Dom Deluise and Marty Feldman in the screencap?

Loveridden, I "liked" your post because I do that for everybody's first reply. (I'm just happy to see the participation, y'know?)

Anyway, I just wanted to clarify that so you didn't think I "liked" that you weren't able to get any of the movies. :(

    Oh I know, no prob!
