So I bought the 510 Joye and I really dig it. But I'm thinking I'd like to try something new. Maybe a mod? Maybe a Joye eGo? But I'm curious, all of the extra atomizers and batteries, or the charger, can it be used on another product like the eGo? I think the atomizer could be used on the eGo but I'm hearing that I should use a low res atty on the eGo. So can the charger be used again? I just hate buying another model when I have so many parts, so much money already invested. The battery life of the 510 doesn't really bother me, so other than battery life is there a real benefit to buying an eGo, or should I just jump right up to a mod?

Thanks for your suggestions, y'all!

Woa.. You just started vaping and you want to graduate?? Cool!!

Everyone is in love with the ego and according to the info on them from the forum, you can use a standard 510 atty...

Any mod basically can be purchased with the 510 atty, and unless you buy a really strong mod.. You can use a standard atty, but I've read that if the mod is 6 volts, you will burn them out sooner... If they aren't sent set up for a 510, just buy the adapter and you are set to go...

I don't have an ego, but I started on a 510.. Since, I have bought some other e-ciggies.. Reason being that I got tired of that terrible taste of the 510 atty and the tiny button on the manual battery, not to mention the 1 and 1/2 hour to 2 hour life-span for the battery... I've got a 410 (which is a very underrated model with a battery life of 4 hours for me and it's an automatic), a Janty Stick (3.7 volt), and a 5 volt GLV2 (which is great and comes automatically with a 510 connector (you state that you want them to send you an adapter for other model attys if you need it to be another one)

The Ego is a natural upgrade from the 510. You get 5-6 hour battery life between charges and compatibility with your old 510 atomizers. Plus, the Ego battery can take the extra current draw from LR attys. The 510 and Ego battery connectors are also compatible with many other attys, so you have a wide choice of attys and cartos.

Being only a month deep into my vaping as well, I have just received my Riva 510 kit from Liberty Flights. I can personally attest right now, that I am so so so pleased that I ordered the kit with cartomizers. If you are using a Joye 510 with standard attys and carts, I recommend you make your first upgrade to an eGo or Riva with boge 3.0 ohm cartomizers. If you are not interested in spending the dough on the battery upgrade, drop $10.00 on a 5 pack of boge cartomizers and give them a whirl. I didn't expect I would want to leave standard attys for cartos, but it is definitely a difference in vapor production and flavor quality. They are easy to fill, easy to carry, and I am completely pleased with their preformance.

If you find that you like the Cartos, , then make the upgrade to the LR (2.0 Ohm) cartos and the eGo battery upgrade. If you don't care for them, you are only out $10.00. Not too bad of a risk for a potentially satisfying upgrade. Whatever choice you make, I wish you luck in your search and happy vaping!

My personal recommendation is to jump past the eGo and go mod. Something sleek to start would probably be best. The battery life will still be phenomenal on mods, and if you choose one threaded for 510 (most mods seem to be as a general standard) you won't even need an adapter. As was stated by Angel there are adapters from 510 to most of the other major threadings and back again available on the cheap.

The best thing about mods, in my opinion, is the ability to stockpile and recharge large amounts of generic batteries for MUCH cheaper than the cost of replacing eGo or standard 510 batteries. If memory serves even the eGo batteries don't have QUITE the current draw necessary to power the 510 attys (especially the LR attys) without taking a hit to their lifespan. Some mods have strong enough batteries to handle it and high drain batteries are also available in some cases.

In the end it's up to you, there is an ecig mod database (Best e-Cig Mod List | e-Cig Mods Database) that should give you more options than you can handle. ^_^ Look around and see what you might like!

Excellent advice, especially about the much lower cost of higher volt batteries. In addition to the lower cost, these type of batteries are not proprietary and can be purchased at battery stores. Plus they have a recharge life of about 2000 times whereas your smaller tube shaped batteries recharge life is about 200 times.

Glad you guys like the idea! ^_^ So many great products on the market, hopefully Stepherz finds one she likes without much trouble. :)

Hope so too... Only problem that will probably occur is choosing one of 100's........

Did you ever pop over to that one thread that someone took pics of all their e-ciggies and mods they have on the table.. I nearly fainted *LOL*

When I mentioned that I was going to buy some LR attys to use on my eGo, many warned me that they had burned out their eGo batteries using the LR atty on them. I was told that the switch is not up to snuff to handle the draw of the LR. I bought a mod since and still have not bought any LR attys. I am doing fine using the 510 attys and cartomizers.

I actually bought 2 mods. A Provari and a box mod. I am happy with both. I tend to not go over 4.5 volts with the Provari.

While the Riva batts are slightly higher voltage than eGo batts (so I hear), my Riva kit came with LR 510 attys and the same batts have been powering LR 306 (2.0) attys for many weeks now with no sign of a hiccup. I wouldn't have thought they would be much of an issue on an eGo either...?

I had 2 people tell me they burned out eGos using LR atties.(one was Mistress Nomad) Plus I have read others saying the same thing I said about the switches. So, I just played it safe. And now, with VV, I don't really need the LR atties.

It's nice to see a "newer" person make the jump to better devices quickly. Good choices, also.
