MT3s Coil question

So I wasn't getting much vapor off my MT3s earlier today so I took it apart to see what's up. Upon unscrewing the base, I noticed that the little rubber or silicon thing that slides over the center post was stuck in the tank. I got it out and it looks like it's increased 3 or 4x it's normal size. Coil itself works fine, I put a new spare back over the post and it seems to be working. But what the hell would have caused that to happen?

Since many things having to do with ecigs can have many causes, it's a good idea to list all context. My guess it's the flavor you're using. Certain combination of flavors could as well. In cars, some oils can swell seals - like WD40. Not saying you'd use that but some flavors are oil based...
