MTL/DTL Hmmmmmm

Good Day All!!!!!

I've been reading about mtl/dtl here in the forum. I understand the concept for both. However, I get the impression that there are different devices for each. I have been vaping dtl with my eGo AIO joyetech. I had been doing 16mg nic but found I was craving stinkies a bit to often. So last night I picked up some new juice with 18 nic.

Can someone advise if this is the correct device for dtl? And if not what type of device do I need to look for? Budget is limited so need to keep that in mind if I need to look for another device. Also I have a Tesla Two sub mod as backup. Is the Tesla good for dtl?

Depends on the coil you're using in the AIO. The .6ohm is MTL the .5 is DTL. There are various other coils available also. I'm sure someone will come along to expand on this list.

my hubby and i use the same setups, same coils etc... he's MtL and i'm DtL... we both subohm though.

Yeah your doing everything right. It will take time, the AIO is more of a restricted DTL so your 18mg sounds fine. It's the other 3000 chemicals you are craving not nicotine. Personally I found MTL much better for cravings as it feels more like a cig, may want 24mg for the MTL.

Interesting that it depends on the coil makes perfect sense. So just pulled out my coil it says .6 MTL. So I need a different coil. Now I'm wondering if they make dtl coils for my device. Guess I'll call the b & m to see if they do. Also gonna do a Google search.

MtL-whether you prefer to inhale into your mouth, pause, and then exhale(like a cigar) or into your lungs
DtL- inhaling without pausing into your lungs.

I'm not sure what I do. My builds are all subohm, and I've come to not like the tight draw of typical mtl tanks, but I'm really looking at the flavor, not the cloud. I don't take in big lungfuls with each draw. So is that subohm high airflow mtl?? Don't know and don't care. You only have to care about finding what suits you best. There's no need to rigidly pigeonhole styles of vaping.

Well, unless you like to enter cloud competitions. And that's cool too.

Thanks for the replies. I'm just really trying out the best was to get nic into my system as I'm back to vaping in order to quit the stinkies. Doing a bit of experimenting with my inhales. So far inhaling into mouth then lung and out thru nose seems to be the best for the nic and taste. Big thing is to get into that habit rather than DTL.

In the UK, the Tesla is just a mod.
If you want to talk tanks, then the inbuilt tank on the AIO is not easy to quantify.
Either way.... 18mg isn't going to make a difference over 16mg.
I would recommend a tank with 0.5ohm or even 0.3ohm coils to use on the Tesla, and keep the Tesla 'topped up' with charge, as it'll lose power as the battery drains.
If you have a little money to experiment, I'd recommend a Uwell Crown (version 1) with a selection of coils.
The only trouble with that advice is 18mg would be rather extreme, to say the least.

Thank you for the useful information. The AIO is charging so I put my Aspire Atlantis tank, airflow wide open, on the Tesla. I am tolerating this well no coughing doing MTL. Now I have put a Tobecco tank on the Tesla and it's a little brutal but I think I can handle it. I'm going to try vaping on this set up for a bit. Thanks for the idea!

LOL just found your response. I'm going to see if I can find a .06ohm locally.

Yeah I found MTL much better for the habit forming addiction of the way you smoke as described above. After maybe 2 months I picked up DTL. I still use both because I switched from chain smoking to chain vaping. Use MTL then when I need a quick nic fix I use DTL. I only vape 2mg these days so MTL can't satisfy my nic for long, just my habit. Can't be bothered to have some juice 6mg for MTL and some 2-3mg.

Yes. With mtl you'd be inhaling into your lungs by definition, not into your lungs or only into your mouth. I wasn't criticising though, no need to feel offended.

Yeah they are great for that also, very simular but I use evods cause I can rebuild them cheap and easy. I can't be bothered to mix different PG/VG ratios either my ratios just depend on how much flavour(PG) I use, 80-90%VG.
