Mtl kit for my bro

Need a little help on getting an mtl kit for my brother.
He currently has a pen style device and says it hurts his throat, I suggested that the nicotine level might be the culprit but he says even 6mg nic hurts his throat, I'm seriously thinking that as he vapes 50pg/50vg that the pg content might be the problem.
The question is what kit could I purchase that's mtl, stock coils and can take a thicker juice.
Mtl is not my bag so I decided to ask for some advice.

Would be helpful to know what kit he's currently using. Might be possible to still use higher VG% eliquid in it and/or with just different coils for it.

I'm going visiting him this weekend, can't get in touch with him right now as his phone packed up and is in the shop, I do know that it uses stock coils but its a pretty old mod, can't remember who it's made by,he did tell me ages ago.
Funny thing is he enjoyed having a vape on one of my mods that had the serpent mini on it and the juice was 70/30 nic at 3mg last month.

Aspire nautilus 2s
Both are popular Mtl delivery devices, both offer various resistance replaceable heads, easy to use.
Any non smok power device that has a power range starting at 5-7w.

I'll second the recommendation. The Zlide/Zenith seems to be the most popular drop-in coil MTL setup at the moment, with the Nautilus following along behind. Given your brother's experience, he might want to start with the 1.6 ohm coils, although a new device should come with a few options to try out.

Thanks, I'm taking him a few of my mods to try out using both my serpent rtas as they are the closest I've got to mtl, I've took a few screenshots of both innokin setups for him to look at, it's so difficult to try to sort someone out with a vape without trying stuff, as I said, he did like the serpent mini last time I visited, I'll use some mild juice to try to understand what the problem is.

Another vote for the Zenith or Zlide with the 1.6 ohm coils. I use mine at a mere 8 watts with only 2-3 airholes open and do enjoy these tanks.

My own personal favourite tanks are still the original Nautilus Minis, again with the 1.6 ohm rather than the 1.8 ohm coils, but care is needed because of all that exposed pyrex glass they have ( though you can buy replacement metal latticed tanks), and they are bottom fill as opposed to The Zlide/Zenith top fill system.

The Zlide Zeniths will happily run 70 VG liquid; I have never tried anything other than 50/50 PG/VG in my Nautis though, so I don't know about them.

@Marper - You don't have to buy an Innokin Kit to obtain and use a Zenith or Zlide tank. I use my Zeniths and Zlides on a variety of mods (ie. Eleaf iSticks, Geek Vape Aegis Mini, Innokin Coolfire Mini, Council of Vapor 40W mod, etc.).

Thanks but he will need the full kit as the pen thing hes got is not adjustable, I want to give him the option of at least 50 watt power mode so as he gets more used to vaping with the new kit he can upgrade tanks, thinking about it I'm quite sure he's old thing is completely knackered

When I first started vaping, I used a juice that I couldn't tolerate at all. I coughed so much I was sure I would never be able to vape enough to quit smoking. My daughter suggested I go to a different vape shop for advice. I found a new vape shop and told them about my coughing. The owner mixed up juice for me that I loved. I never had the coughing problem again. It may be that your brother's juice has too much PG or the problem could be that it has an ingredient in it that inflames his throat.

In addition to getting him fixed up with hardware that works for him, I would suggest two things: (1) get your brother a different brand, good quality juice (2) make sure the new juice has a higher VG percentage.

I make my juice with 70% PG. It’s what works best for me.

Thanks everyone I got him the innokin zlide kit plus extra coils, I'm sure he will be happy, looks like a pretty robust mod

The tank is pretty robust - getting out of the car on Tuesday my Zenith took a flyer and bounced off the granite kerb - a slight paint scratch by the fill port was the only damage.

Thanks, nice to know, the actual mod looks good, it's got a silicon case as standard, I think it will do him fine, easy power settings and an afc slot on the tank, so it's going to be better than the pile of rubbish he has now, can use thicker juice and smooth vape

He's not interested in building his own coils, however, he does like to look at my builds and mods, maybe in time it's a stepping stone to help him get the vape he wants and also to quit the stinkies, he said that anything to help him quit, he's desperate to give up but as I said his old thing just didn't do it for him, I tried his old one month's back and it's so bad
