Agreed (bummer). :(

It's always situations like this that are the only times I regret the fact that I never (rarely) save boxes.

I save boxes because otherwise I wouldn't be able to keep track of all those extras--o-rings, RBAs, etc.

the blue is a bit on the f'ugly side (for my personal taste).

I have to agree. Never liked sky blue. Especially not a sky blue vape tank lol. I have a sky blue STM base that I bought in a STM parts lot I bought from someone lol.

Yeah. That had to work pretty hard to get something with that exact shade of "ugly".

    A+ for effort, they. ;)

Funny thing is that you and I think it's fugly but that fugly blue STM it's actually relatively popular and rare.

Someone here once uttered the phrase, "Taste is subjective" (no more than a few billion times - lol).

    As Phil Busardo once said, so many moons ago;
    "NOW, I get it."

   ;)

I think one of the reasons that sky blue STM was so popular is because it was hard to find in stock so some people JUST HAD TO HAVE IT

I just moments ago said to someone else, on a totally different subject -

"The term 'crazy vaper' is definitely a repetitive one."

Now I need to go digging through my stash to find my STM. I do know it's in a red box like @Katya's. Don't know if I still have any Aspire coils or not. I do know I have a bunch of OCC coils. Also know I bought a couple of the updated RBA bases.

Might as well set it up once I find it. As I recall it was a nice vape.

I made a huge mess with vape gear all over the place looking for my STM but finally found it. Mine only has AF on one side so it must be a v1??? Looking through my records I bought it in 2015. Didn't find any BVC coils, yet. More stuff to go through.

To my surprise I had a new 28g kanthal 0.8 ohm coil + wick already installed on the RBA. It's a fine vape at 12.5 watts on the Mixx. Think I'll tootle along the rest of the night with this puppy. :D

That's my understanding. However I see that it has the Plus RBA, not the original one, so now I have no idea what constitutes V1 and V2
I do have the original RBA somewhere in my mess. When the updated RBA's came out I snagged a couple.

I actually like the original RBA because the juice ports are all the way at the bottom. They just need to be filed to be bigger. I bought a bunch of clones of the original on Fasttech years ago. I like them both, though. It's just that you can vape more of the juice in the tank with the original.

I also have an RBA for the Nano but by the time I went to order more, they were discontinued. :grr:

I believe the Kanger Subtank line got cloned quite a bit over the years, much like the Vision Novas before them. That compounds some of our fit issues and the packaging is virtually identical.

If you're implying that my "Four-ninety-nine" tanks are not authentic, well then, I am appalled.

That's true. But back when I bought my subanks, I didn't buy from China and only bought from vendors who were on Kanger's "authorized vendor" list they used to have published on their site. They were all bought from Madvapes, Lightfire and MVS, all of whom were on that list.

So I believe the problem here is that Kanger was always infamous for consistency. However, despite the differences in chimney lengths, all the tanks fit the Kanger coils & RBA properly.

The problem comes when trying to fit/use a coil head that wasn't designed for the tank. That's when the inconsistencies become apparent (otherwise I'd have never noticed them).

I'm thinking that there's more than just V1 and V2 for subtanks. Probably goes all the way up to V47 .
