yup, he was in roadhouse (and did some of the soundtrack), and it was more than somewhat cheesy. i saw healey live a few times, and he really was a great performer.

Thanks. Yeah definitely Kraft macaroni worthy. Healey had that something, IT, that draws you in along with the touch.

I met Captain Beefheart and Frank Zappa at the Detroit Metro airport when I was 14 (1972) They were on the same flight as my aunt who flew in from LA. I spoke to them near the baggage pickup. A small teenage brush with fame.

Very cool!! I grew up in CA and Zappa lived a few miles away, but never got to meet him...

Here's a little gem for you from about 1967/68:





NOTE: The part about 'playing the car' is a reference to FZ playing a bicycle on The Steve Allen Show back in 1963 (he was 22 then)
