my fave band

( Belle and Sebastian clip )

I haven't heard a lot of Belle and Sebastian's music, so I went and checked out the first 6 songs that came up on YouTube. I knew "The Boy with the Arab Strap," but I don't think I've heard any of the others.

Anyway, their songs are really polished and catchy, and they're definitely well-crafted. In small doses, that works great for me. But after more than a few light, whimsical tunes in a row, no matter how clever or catchy, I kind of just zone out and lose interest.

I liked this song in particular, though...

I just found this song while driving today. I'd never heard it until today. I'm kind of liking it.

( Mumford & Sons )

Not really my cup of tea to start with, but their overexposure on the radio stations I listen to is making me start to hate Mumford and Sons.

This has been my mourning music this weekend...

( Florence + the Machine )

I just picked up this CD yesterday, (along with a few others), and I'm really enjoying it so far. :2cool:

That's some good stuff! Thanks for that!
Glad you liked it. Hopefully, you weren't the only one, because, as floridamale says:

Great Band = Morphine
("Honey White" live clip)

They really were a great band, and it's too bad they never achieved the level of success they deserved. Morphine always seemed to be almost on the verge of really making it, but just never quite got there. Then, it all came to an abrupt end when Mark Sandman died on stage in Italy. He had been fixture in the Boston music scene since the mid-80s, and, aside from being talented as hell, he was known to be a really, really good guy.

On that note, here's a tune by Treat Her Right, the band Mark Sandman was in before forming Morphine.

Treat Her Right - I Think She Likes Me

My wife bought this album and plays it quite a bit. For some reason, this song gets stuck in my head, and I can't get it out. No wonder they used it for a commercial.

Great. Now this is going to be stuck in my head for a week.

Likin' the Treat Her Right and The Black Keys.

I have been so sick of music for the past couple years. Thanks for sharing the tunes. I'm finding a lot of fresh stuff!
