i'm super excited about getting the Precise, and i would love some of your input.

as far as batteries go, i know i'm ordering protected 10440 Trustfires but i'm just not sure which charger to get. since i'm a heavy vaper and would want to use LR attys with the Precise, i'm planning to get a lot of batteries to rotate throughout the day. how long does it take for these batteries to recharge? would it be better if i got two chargers to keep up or would one be enough?

i'm also not sure which t-tip to get either. i wasn't sure if i should get the standard or shorty length, but i think i may go for the standard since my LR atty gets pretty warm. besides the weight, are their any major difference between the stainless steel or aluminum? i currently use a delrin tip from another vendor, but the juice tends to stick to the sides and doesn't always hit the bridge. unless i drip perfectly in the center, i end up having to take the tip off and that pretty much negates it's purpose. i've read that the new wide mouth design takes care of this problem, but i do like the straight edged look of the original. which one do you prefer?

sorry for all the newbie questions. since this is my first battery mod, i just want to make sure i get all the right things for it. :D

Hey Vip!

If you're a pretty heavy vapor, like I am, I'd suggest getting a bunch of the 10440's. The only battery charger that works with the PROTECTED ones, (I think it is anyway, if someone knows of a better one, I'm game too. I ordered the 10440 charger from Dino Direct, but it's that HAIR too short! I guess it's just for UNprotected 10440's. Would have been nice if they'd SAID that too..bloody %^&^!!), is the Trustfire Multi-Charger. I'd probably get two if you can..you can only charge 2 at a time in there.

They seem to take about 30 mins to charge, (but I haven't timed it exactly yet) and, with the LR atties, they're usually goners anywhere between 1 and 1.5 hours.

With my Precise, I got the stainless shorty tip and it looks really great! (Especially coupled up with stainless atty with the wide gold band.....SPIFFY!) This was my first drip tip, and I'm a sloppy filler, but it's hit the atty front and center every time, as far as I can tell!

thanks domino! i think you're going to be my new go-to person once i get the Precise. ;) i'm definitely a heavy vaper like you...i've gone through an eGo battery before the other one could fully charge more than a couple of times!

30mins to charge isn't bad at all! i guess i'm still in eGo mode where it takes several hours. i'm always in the state of paranoia that i'll be stuck with dead batteries so i think i'm going to start with a total of 6 batteries, and get 2 chargers to rotate through.

maybe i'll start with the original stainless t-tip and try out the wide mouth version afterwards. i just think that straight edged look makes it looks so sleek! does the shorty length ever get too hot on the LR atty? oh, i'm also getting the Precise with the brass tips - where did you get your LR atty with the gold band from? i've only seen them in all stainless steel.

right now i use an ultrafire wf-138, which fits unprotected 10440s and 14500s. i use the 14500 slot and 2 shiny pennies to take up the space. works great but i can only charge one at a time. ive just ordered a soshine SC-S1 charger which is supposed to charge 10440s, 16340s, 18650s, etc and can charge from AC and 12V DC from a car. Hopefully I will be able to use a single battery charger for all batteries then.

Nope, never had a problem with the mouthpiece heating up! :) There's no 'flare' at the end of them, it's all flush with the length Vip!

AND, you've got mail! :mail:

must-have accessories?

Well.... nothing goes with stainless steel as well as more stainless steel:

When I had mine, it was the only possession I ever had that started as many conversations with strangers as my e-cig now does.

just got my Precise earlier today and wow! holy smokes, it's even better looking in person! :hubba:

the craftsmanship is amazing, i love the slight texture to the body, it feels really solid and i can understand why people refer to David's PVs like it's a work of art.

unfortunately, i haven't been able to vape on it yet since my batts aren't due to arrive until tomorrow but i'm happy just gazing at it for now. c'mon mailman! :D

Madvapes is now carrying updated grey Ultrafire 10440 batteries as opposed to the older blue ones.

They claim that they have better quality control in terms of wrapping. That would be good.

The blue batch that I got in March had PCB circuits off center, in some cases, preventing one from dropping it into the Precise because of its tight tolerance. In a few of other cases, they were too long to be able to screw the battery cap down.

I have ordered six of the new ones now and will report on my findings.

If you want to try too I used a discount code Strell and it saved me $1.85 off of a $37 order. Have a good day!

Wow. great idea. Just tried it though with one of the new 10440 I bought and it fit snug but the green light on the charger stayed green.... ooops bet that's because the new batteries came precharged right?
Sorry i'm just dumb about this stuff.

They should need a charge before use, unless someone charged them for you:)
