MV site causing browser to freeze lately?

Lately my browser (Firefox, btw) completely freezes for about a minute before coming back with a small error box at the top:
"The Adobe Flash plugin has crashed."
It's only happening while on the madvapes site.

And I mean it freezes COMPLETELY! Can't switch tabs, scroll, or even close it out until it comes up with the error. It seems random. It's happened while just browsing from one page to another around the site and also when updating the shopping cart. Reloading doesn't seem to reproduce the error though.

The only thing that I can see that might be causing it is the "Total Visitors" scrolling thingy.
It doesn't happen all that often, but enough that I figured I'd mention it. I'd say in the last week, it's happened about 5 times.

I'm also open to the possibility that it may be an issue with my machine (FF, Adobe, updates, etc). I'll try some things and let you know.

I've also gotten a script error on the site a few times, but I keep forgetting to note what it's pertaining to...

I had the same problem lately using Google Chrome, I switched over to internet explorer and it works just fine now.

Yep major lockups using Chrome sometimes it crashes it but most of the time just lockups. No problem on other sites that use flash so it's a MV problem.

A few months ago I had the same problem with the total visitors Flash widget while using Firefox. In fact, I just tested and still can't get it to load in FF... but it works just fine in Internet Exploder.

My solution was to block the widget with Adblock and the site has been super fast ever since. If anyone wants them, I've got two rule definitions in place that take care of this perfectly. If this sort of thing is discouraged, then I apologize -- I know how frustrating it can be when all you want to do is browse the site but keep running into browser hangs. I'm a programmer with a fairly speedy machine and for some reason, that Flash widget absolutely murders Firefox.

hmm.. I'm running firefox 3.6.18 and chrome 15.0.874.120 m. It definitely hangs up chrome but ff seems to work okay. I've disabled it for now. Can you guys let me know if you still see it hanging up without the widget?

Even though I was blocking the widget in question, the site still loads much faster now. Two thumbs aloft!

Nice. I was finally able to order a few cartos. My firefox has been crashing when I change pages a couple of times and seems to always crash when I try to view the single coil 510s... but it might just be timing. However long it takes for the widget to crash my browser might just be about how long it takes me to navigate to cartos i want.

Thank you for removing that. I had installed Flashblock just so I could make purchases from the site.

I eventually adblocked it as well and noticed that it seemed to stop the freezing and error (sorry, I forgot to get back to the thread til now). The site is definitely a LOT faster now
