MV_5v_box_mod_issue

Well,_my_wife_surprised_me_with_a_MV-box-mod.

Batteries_charged...led_flies_when_no_carto_is_attatched,_but_as_soon_as_I_connect_my_tank,_it_just_stops_and_will_not_re-light_unless_I_turn_it_off_then_on_again.

When_it_fires,_it_is_for_a_split_second.

What_would_cause_it_to_light_un-attatched,_but_not_when_put_together?

Have you tried a different carto?

You could have a bad one. I'm thinking short.

I_have_2_different_xl_cartos_with_tanks.

Both_give_the_same_result.

With_tank_attached,_I_can_hold_the_fire_button_and_flick_the_on/off_back_and_forth_and_get_a_bit_of_vapor....but_it_is_not_working_correctly.

I bet you have the trustfire batteries. The lower resistance trips their protection circuit. Either use a higher resistance carto or get AW IMR 14500 and the problem will be solved.

I took the carto and placed it on my passthrough and it worked. I put it on another PV and it worked. I put back on the box and the same thing happened. I switched batteries and all is well.

I bet you have the trustfire batteries. The lower resistance trips their protection circuit. Either use a higher resistance carto or get AW IMR 14500 and the problem will be solved.

I know you want to use a tank, but try pop on a 3ohm carto and see what happens

AW IMR are high drain safe chemistry batetries vs protected Lithium Ions. In the US I get AW IMRs at Super T Manufacturing - quick shipping and good prices.

Check if the positive end of the battery makes connection with the positive plate. You may need a battery spacer or add a drop of solder on the contact to make connection

its the protection circuit in the batts tripping. happens to me all the time!! need a higher res carto!

4v is about the limit on a 1.5ohms. Much over that and you are going to trip out whatever you are running.


But, you can stack LiFePO4's in a mechanical mod and get HV with LR, but you are going to drain the batteries very quickly.

I don't know about that, I just had a 1.5 ohm on a 5V box from maximum vapors the other night and that thing fired up just fine, of course the juice tasted burnt but it's nice to know it can be done.
