What charger setup are you using? I ask because the wall wart that's made for the MVP:

MVPII Wall Charger

has a charging rate of 1 amp. Some other wall warts/phone chargers are 500 mA or less, which will significantly extend the amount of time needed to fully charge the battery.

And the last little bit of charge takes longer because as the battery gets near full charge, the charging rate slows down.

Roughly, (and this isn't exact, the actual numbers are different because of battery stuff that's only important to a geek like me) a 250 mA charger will take about 4 times longer to fully charge a battery than a 1 amp charger.

I use my iPhone wall charger with the charging cord that came with my MVP 2.

Odd. That's a 5 watt charger, and it has the same mA output as the MVP charger (1 amp).

Just for the heck of it I put my MVP on a 700 mA phone charger. Took a little over two hours for the green light to go out, and I was still vaping with it. (The battery wasn't fully discharged to begin with, and I wanted to see if the green light would go out if the MVP was still on and in use)

I noticed on mine if the device was on when plugged in the light stays on, if the device was off the light will turn off when charged.

Kooky. On mine the light will go off whether the device is on or off.

I honestly thought that meant it was in passthrough mode..

I just tried turning my MVP off and plugging it into the charger; green light came on, indicating it was charging, but it did not fire when I pressed the button. I tried pressing the button three times while charging, it did not turn on.

Unlpugged it, turned it on, plugged it back in, went back to charging state. Pressed the button, it fired. Pressed the button three times to try to turn it off, it still fired.

So apparently it has to be turned "on" or "off" when unplugged, it won't change states after it is plugged in.

I've noticed the same thing, but I rarely use the pass through, so it's a non issue for me, but for some it could be an inconvenience.

Same here. With the battery life I get out of the MVP, I don't find myself needing to use it as a passthrough. I normally just stick it on charge every other day or so on my nightstand.
