I apologize in advance if there is a sub-forum discussing this, but I couldn't find one.

I'm getting ready to purchase an MVP 2...but I wanted to see how these things fare with ProTank users. Does it work well with ProTanks? I'm getting ready to order one from MBV and it looks like it comes with an IClear...not sure which version? Never used it before. Is it glass? Someones review at MBV's website says their protanks didn't work on it. User error? Bad unit?

Here is the link to show you what I am buying. Innokin iTaste MVP V2.0 Starter Kit - Mt Baker Vapor - Electronic Cigarettes

I just have a ton of ProTanks and I like using them, would hate to have to make the investment to buy all new clearos to use this thing.

Do I need an adapter to use protanks?

There is a cheaper one here iTaste MVP Variable Voltage Box Mod (2600mah) but it doesn't come with any juice and it comes with CE5's which I know I hate.

Thanks for reading and for your help.

Looks like the standard eGo/510 threads to me.

I use my MVP2 with protanks all the time. No problems.

I have heard of having to adjust the center pin on the 510 connector to make contact with the atty, but I haven't had these issues.

You are correct. I had to look up the Protank, it's almost an exact replica of a Davide, or vice versa. Anyways, they both use the same atty, so....

But yes, they do work, and as D said, you may have to adjust the center pin on the coil to make contact. I've noticed that when I put the tank on an ego, it pushes that center pin in, and then when I swap it to the MVP, it's too far inside the tank to make contact. Simply take your coil, put your finger nail between the bottom center pin an the rubber insulator, and pull it out a fraction.

Thanks, Amoret!

Just placed my order. At MBV, I got the MVP starter kit with an I-clear, charger, 2 bottles of juice for $53.99. It was $59.95 but I remembered to use the coupon code "vaporfrombaker" that got me another 10% off. Awesome!

The other site I was considering would have been the same price, but no juice and a couple of CE5's instead of the IClear. I'm excited to try the Iclear, I know a lot of people here like them. :)

There is no better MVP kit than the MT Baker one. 59.99 is awesome and you get a free bottle of one of the best juices out there. you absolutely can't go wrong with it. Plus, they ship super fast.

Yesterday, I made an order at 10am and received and email saying shipped at 1:30 in the afternoon. And it will be here tomorrow. I absolutely love Mt Baker.

-EDIT-

Here's some coupon codes to try and get 10% off.

killingbraincells11 (I've used this one and it works for 11% off order. I used it on juice through so I don't know if it will work for hardware.)

I remembered to use "vaporfrombaker" at the last minute and got 10% off. Didn't know about the killing brain cells one, though!

I do have connection issues with my MVP 2 and Protanks I & II. I have 2 MVP's as well as original Kanger's. They work with some and not others.

I like the MVP's around the house/office since I plug one into a USB power supply while I am using the other one. It's easier to do that than to swap out a battery. I do not like being tethered, so never use the pass-through feature. I would never plug anything into a PC USB port to charge. It's just too risky. A dedicated high out put USB power supply is only $5-10

When out and about, I do use my Itaste VV in pass through mode when driving. My PT 1's don't work on those either, but I use PT Mini's when out and about.

Rather than mess with pulling center pins on a device, it's easier to grind off a few fractions on my vaporizer. The Kangers make it easy since you pull the head from the base and don't have to worry about dust getting into the air hole. It does not take much.

Over the years, I have had numerous instances of faulty connections with various device/vaporizer combinations. It goes with the territory of vaping, so you just have to live with it.

Pro-tip for ProTanks :)

Use the beauty ring that comes with the MVP, not the one that comes with the ProTank - the MVP one has two air holes cut into it which the ProTank one is missing (unless you're using an AeroTank or Airflow Control in which case this advice is moot :))

Thanks for this advice! I am hoping I don't have too many issues. I mainly use ProTank Mini 2's, and it sounds like I may have better luck with those than the larger pro tanks. But we will see!

Best tip for ProTank2 for MVP2 use is to purchase a Mini PT2 base and use it on your ProTank 2. No leaks, no dry hits, no gurgle sounds, and you can vape down to the bottom of the tank.

You can get the base here for only $1.99. Kanger Mini Protank II / 2 Bottom Base | EVcigarettes Electric Vapor Cigarettes EVC

My PT2 with Mini base on MVP2

I do have an extra PTMini base from one that broke a while back. Glad I saved the parts in case I need to "Frankenstein" them. :)
