so I've had the MVP for almost 7 months now but lately its been acting up I don't think it fully charges anymore. when I first got it a full charge would last 3-4 days running at 4.5-5 volts with a standard drip atty. now I plug it in over night but the light never shuts off like it did, and I end up having to charge again mid day. is there something wrong with it or has it gone bad already?

I'd let it do a full discharge and try charging it fully. They do take quite some time to fully charge, it's a big battery.
sounds like its time for a new one. you dont have to wait till its completely run down its better for your bats to recharge them with a partial charge in them sometimes. these aren't nicads they have no memory.
I was thinking silver bullet, I already have a nice rebuildable that doesn't see much use I just really don't want to spend that kind of money.
usually when the light turns yellow it will last till the end of the day then I'll pug it in over night. lately though after about 4 or 5 hours it will be green for one puff, yellow for the next few then go red. I've had it less than 7 months I can't believe its gone bad already.
If it's been your primary battery and that's your normal usage - i.e nearly flat and recharged daily - then you're getting to over 200 charge cycles. Average / estimate is 250 to 300, so maybe it is just wearing out.
yeah I guess I'm do for a new one I just hate spending all that money. on the bright side if I compare to the cost of my cigs a silver bullet setup will pay for itself in 3 months.
Soysos, silly question, but have you cleaned the connection? I clean mine about once a week with an old toothbrush slightly damped with EC. Dry with other end of qtip (dry end). I always hold the bristles up and the battery down so any liquid doesn't run into the battery.
once a week I'll flush out the atty and clean the connection with a paper towel. I'm wondering though if there might be something wrong with the unit other than the battery it used to be when I plugged it it the light would come on and when I unplugged it the light would be off and the unit would be cold to the touch. now even after 10 hours of charging the light is still on and its hot to the touch. I don't think its charging fully.
Do you have another charger to try it on? It may be the charger and not the battery. Although 7 months of daily use is a good life. Hope you figure it out. You should get your backups lined up and ready, just in case.
I have several chargers, same issue on all of them. and I gave away my backup a few months ago. looks like a trip to the shop is in order.
