So disappointed that it does not really vape the voltage advertised. :( I was all over this one but I vape ~3.6-3.7 and I'm not going to sit there and run the battery down until it is where it will vape properly for my needs. Without a step down, it doesn't kill the MVP, at least for a lot of peoples needs But I like sooooo many of its features. Hopefully a istick V2.

Agree Cap. Low voltage vapers like myself just can't give the iStick the rating it deserves in because of the voltage delivery calculations it touts. It's about 1v too hot compared to everything else I have and that's a huge difference.

I don't see the MVP in any danger right now but the iStick will erode some of their market. I hope it's enough for them to answer with a more streamlined MVP3.

Agreed!!! I think it's worse than not bucking for undervolt. I think it's reporting the voltage wrong. I can get a better vape on it using a 2.0 ohm iClear 30s (dual coil), and am going to test it with a Genitank (Aerotank V2) at 1.8 ohm (dual coil). The Kanger is supposed to handle more wattage.... Not optimal, but what the heck....

;)

IMHO, eLeaf made a two-year-old math error....

:D

Fortunately for them, people love them, so their sales are through the roof.

Phil Busardo is going to test one, so the jury will come in....

Vape Happy!!!

Hey all, I got out of the vaping world for a little while, my setup before taking a break was an MVP V2 and a nautilus. Since getting back in about a month ago I finally got into rebuildables and have been solely using mech mods. But I miss my VW. I'm about to build a DNA30, just waiting for a few more parts to come in, but I'm thinking about getting another MVP to use as a backup.

One thing I wanted to know before getting it: What is the minimum resistance coil you can use with the MVP? 1Ω? Lower or higher?

Thanks in advance, it's good to be back.

Innoken recommends staying ABOVE 1 ohm.....SOME have gone as low as .8 and got it to fire.....but PROBABLY pushing the safety limits of the device, IMHO...
I personally have used 1.2 ohm coils consistently in both my MVPs with excellent results.....
Happy (vaping) Trails!

Guys all of a sudden I'm getting hardly any vapor out of my nautilus mini on my MVP. Any thoughts?

Are you cleaning or changing your coil regularly? That can cause poor vapor production. If you are not getting a good connection at the 510 connector vapor production will also drop off. Raising the pin will fix that. As stated before, try it on another device and see if you get the same results in order to narrow down your possibilities.

1.2 will allow you to use the full range of your MVP and is a pretty good place to be with a lot of toppers. It will fire .8 but I really felt like I was stressing the battery when I did and dismantled it after a short run.

Hi - FINALLY!!! Mail came in today with my new MPV2 (starter kit, nothing additional yet)!! Upgrading from Evod2. Wow, just out of the gate, big differences - so far all good! Plan on getting at least one, if not two Aspire Naut tanks on my new device. Still trying to learn the ins & outs of VV and VW... not really sure where to start, so I'm just starting to evaluate. But wanted to say hiya! :)
Hmm - I think I'm getting WAY more nic hit on this device than the evod2 - is that possible? 4-5 puffs, and I'm kinda dizzy (so I will give it a rest) - with 12 mg (have 12-24 in my evod2, depending on my mood). Perhaps I need to ratchet down the MGs in this device? (Using lowest settings on VV and WV so far)....

Hiya back, Kathring and hello JoeD4!

Yay Vape Mail!!!!! You might be getting a little more hit from the MVP because you might be running it higher than the evod2. With regard to settings, I tend to like the VW setting - I run upwards of 9.5-10.5W on 1.8Ω coils (everything from my simple EVOD tanks to my Nautiluses and kayfun clones.) I *LOVE* the Nautiluses - running the BVC coil, but I even had good luck with the 1.6Ω BDC coil as well.

Best suggestion is to start low and nudge your way up until you find what you like best. If I'm going to be out and about, I turn my watts down to around 8.0, but I really like the hit with the higher watts now. Just have to be near power or keep a 2nd MVP handy :D

I picked up a Naut-mini when I was out of town on business this week. Loving that as well. I may have to start retiring my EVOD tanks

Joe, I've been relatively low nic (~6mg) myself. It's an amazing feeling.

Welcome to the MahVelous Place known as the MVP thread :)

The lowest resistance coil that I've been able to get my MVP2 to fire with is a .8Ω coil that I built myself. However... It may be contrary to what other owners of the MVP2 might say but the ohm reading of the MVP2 is not exactly great IMHO. For example, I'll put a 1.8Ω coil in my Nautilus and check it with the Ohm reader on my MVP2 and it might (*might*) read to 3.9Ω, then I'll take a vape on it, and test it again and it *might* say 1.8Ω or 2.1Ω or any possible other reading. Eventually it seems to level out and on a new coil after doing a couple tests on it, it will settle in at what the mfg of the coil states the coil's resistance will be (i.e. 1.8 Ω). But when dealing with < 1Ω coils, and when nearing the threshold of what the MVP2 will fire on, then it seems to me that the resistance reading should / would need to be pretty reliable.

As another example, I did that .8 Ω coil and tried it on the MVP2 one day and it was reading that it was below .8 Ω so it wouldn't fire. Just on a whim I took it with me when I went to the local vape store since they have a dedicated box that tests the resistance of coils and on their device it was reading at .8 Ω. I put it back on my MVP2 and tried again and this time it was indeed reading at .8 Ω and it would fire again. So, when dealing with coils that are so close to the threshold of what will or won't fire on the MVP2 it's really not worth the trouble since (at least on my MVP2) the resistance checker can be quite flaky at times and so you could be out and about with a known good .8 Ohm coil and find that the MVP2 now thinks that it's less than .8 and won't fire up for you.

So, now I stick to at least 1 Ω coils when I build them myself for my RSST so that I don't get caught up in this flaky resistance checker on the MVP2. Even with a 1Ω coils could read below .8 and cause my MVP2 not to fire up but at least it leaves a little wiggling room for the flaky MVP2 resistance readings that can happen from time to time. Don't get me wrong there are other times where it will tell me that the new 1.8Ω coil that I just bought is reading at 1.8Ω but it isn't so accurate most of the time for me.

Like I said, it may be contrary to what other MVP2 owners experience, but I have actually seen it in a brand new freshly opened box of the MVP2 at the B&M store that we used to go to in our old city where we used to live as I took my MVP2 back to her telling her how flaky the resistance checking was and asked to test it on a new unit, which produced the same flaky results as my own MVP2. Worse case... They're all as flaky, best case... 2 units that I tried (my own and the stores new one) were flaky.

Still... A great unit to vape with regardless that the resistance checking is a bit flaky at times, fits my big hands, has enough battery life to only need charging every day or two and for the most part does what it's supposed to allow me to do... Vape.
