Just getting back into vaping after slipping back into the world of cigarettes...

It seems like the vaping world moves quickly and my knowledge is a bit outdated now, so on here for sone advise.

just bought the mvp pro 3, with I sub g atomiser. I'm just wanting to know what strength juice to use, as I'm sure I've read that using a high strength nicotine doesn't work so well with this? If that is the case, then why is this?

I like the the juice to have a high nicotine content to keep me away from the cigarettes, but I want to get the best out of this and would appreciate some advise or a nudge in the right direction.

Many thanks in advance.

Sub ohm vaping produces lots more vapor. Also, the vapor is thicker, denser, and wetter. Your body gets tons more nic from this heavier, more abundant vapor than from a tank vaping at, let's say 1.8 ohms. The vapor still has x amount of nicotine... you're just getting tons more vapor (and exposure to nicotine as a result).

24 mg nic = 2 packs per day
18 mg nic = 1 1/2 ppd
12 mg nic = 1 ppd
6 mg nic = 1/2 ppd

The above is a general guideline for normal resistance coils, and your results may vary. Recommend dropping nic concentration by at least one step if using sub-ohm coils.

Too much nicotine can cause symptoms like too much caffeine: lightheadedness, spacey, headache, nausea, nervousness.

Right that makes sense. So it wouldn't do damage to use a high nicotine content it would just mean I would be getting a lot of nicotine?
You can certainly get nic sick a lot easier. Whether you vape really high nic at high resistance or vape low nic at low resistance, the effect is the same... your body absorbs x amount of nicotine. High nic, sub ohm vaping is generally not pleasant, but a very few people handle that extreme nic dosage just fine. I'm not one of them. If you used to vape 18mg, consider about 6mg for subohm. Drop 24mg to about 8. Cut it to a third, roughly.

You might find 18mg to be a bit rough in a sub-ohm tank. I mean, it's different for everyone, but personally I can't go over 10mg on a .5 ohm head (at reasonable wattages) without noticing some uncomfortable harshness in the throat.

Worst case scenario just buy the same juice in 0mg and mix 'em to get 9mg.

actually the higher wattage you vape at the lower milligram strength you will want;
ballpark number is 100:
20mg at 5 watts : 20 x 5 = 100
10mg at 10 watts : 10 x 10 = 100
5mg at 20 watts : 5 x 20 = 100

Um. What? Where? What..? 100 whats? What? Not even considering resistance or wire gauge? What?

I'll get a range of strengths and go from there. Any that you can recommend? Hangsen was the only one I enjoyed before but there are probably new guys on the market now.

Personally, I've always found Hangsen to be quite "meh" -- but it's personal preference, YMMV.

My favorite e-juice companies by far are Nicoticket and MtBakerVapor. ITCVapes is pretty good too, and so is Bombies. All good companies worth checking out.

Thanks. my only comparison is the cheap stuff you get in the garage. So hangsen probably stand well against them. I'll check those out thanks

When I was vaping ego-style batteries (Halo Triton), I used 24 mg juice. When I upgraded to the Nautilus Mini on an iStick and vaped it at 10-12 watts, I dropped down to 15 mg by mixing 24 mg juice with 6 mg juice half and half. When I started subohming, I dropped down to 6 mg and that's where I am now. I do vape a little bit more, but I've tried vaping 12 mg juice and the throat hit was just way too harsh for me. Even with some 6 mg juices, depending on the nicotine the juice company is using, the throat hit is a bit on the harsh side for me.

It's actually 100 wattgrams per litre !
From the numbers I'm used to seeing, 100 is about average; 200 and higher would be strong; nobody vapes 1000; and 50 or less would be light.

a lot of people vape 3mg/ml at 30 watts; that's 90 wattgrams per litre which approx. = 100
