Hello, I'm loozing for a little advise on my next devise purchase. I have been vaping for 4yrs now but have never made the leap to sub ohming. I have decided it is time but I want to make sure the device I choose is safe and reliable. I have narrowed my choices down to MVP Pro 3 or istick pico, I know they are not comparable in size but that's not really an issue for me safety, reliability, and performance are. If anyone out there has owned both devices I would sure appreciate any input.

Welcome to ECF!

The MVP might be more rugged but, as Bonskibon said, it has a built in battery. When the battery dies it's a paperweight.

The Pico is very popular, it's lighter and has a replaceable battery. It may not be as rugged though. If you have a tendency to drop things, it may be better to look at other devices.

There is a plethora of mods on the market right now. Why limit yourself to two choices? I'm sure others will chime in with more suggestions.

Hmm. I'd go with the Pico.
The MVP Pro was a big beauty but let's face it, Innokin lost a lot of their famous reliability around about this time. It was never in the same league (for long life) as the MVP 2.0.
I certainly wouldn't choose one on safety grounds. It's also unnecessarily big when you can get 6,000mAh out of a 2 battery (2 x independent 18650 batteries) mod that is super-efficient size-wise.
Prices are quite crazy for the Pro in the UK, maybe you are cheaper.
I HATE it when the vape industry does this. $70 (MVP Pro) .... They seem to make things more expensive as the entire market moves on. They should be on discount if anything... most will have been sat on shelves and not seen a charger in 24 months.

I don't have a Pico but have been looking at it for my next purchase (switching to external batteries from this point forward). I do have a MVP3 Pro now, got it when they first came out (replaced my original MVP), and will say I love it. I'm 6'6", have big hands and the size is actually very nice for my hands. Never had a problem with it and still get 2-3 days between charges at 0.5ohm 30-40w. Sturdy as heck, have dropped it many, many times including on concrete more than once and have no scratches and one slightly mushed corner on the bottom. If I was looking for another internal battery, I would get it or the MVP4.

Welcome and glad you joined. With sub ohm'g you can nearly count on doubling the costs. External batteries, 2 or 3 set mod would be in order. Slight decrease in safety aspects with reg. mods. and reliability may suffer a little too.

Hi and Welcome- my vote would be for the Pico! I like the external battery option better than internal battery, and I like the small size of the Pico! Easier to switch out to a fresh battery- what do you use while waiting for the MVP to charge up? You would need a battery charger and 2 18650 batteries for the Pico- but to me a much better option than the MVP.

I would say as a spare.
Haha- you get me- yes I meant a spare battery for the Pico 75w- you could vape with one while the other charges in an external battery charger like the XTAR and or the Nitecore.
Yes the Pico now does come in" Dual " with 200w newer dual battery option! Then you would need at least 4 batteries, 2 while vaping- while 2 can charge! Love dual battery mods- my Minikin V1.5 lasts all day of vaping for me at about 25w-30w!

Depends on which Pico they get. The original Pico (75w) uses one battery, unless you meant having a spare. :)
Yes, the Pico 75w- I meant it is a single 18650 battery- but get another 18650 for a spare( 2 batteries)- you would also need a charger, while you can use the charge on the Pico, it is better to charge on a separate charger like the XTAR or the Nitecore,etc....
The Pico has the new "Dual" which takes 2 18650 batteries- love dual battery devices! I have the Minikin V1.5 and love how I can get pretty much a full day on those vaping at 25w-30watts!
