32g quad wrap.jpg
32G Kanthal 4 strands coiled together. I-ATTY with swapped ground and fill screws, slightly beveled air intake hole (stock diameter though), I reduced the length of the interior center post to allow the positive post to capture the Kanthal more securely, otherwise stock LOL.

On the Kanthal wire, I used a drill to coil 12" (folded in half) as my first step, then after folding the wire again and reversing the drill direction I coiled again.

I was looking to get closer to a 1.3 ohm coil as my previous attempts resulted in 3+ ohm coils that were very small and ended up with a very long positive leg that I was not very fond of.

I may try to do a similar wrap with the 32G and more coils next go around.

With cotton wick after a few vapes on an unregulated 18650. juice is a mixture of Cinthol and Chocolate Orange 50:50 resulting in a 35/65 PG/VG ratio at 17 mg/ml

0.60 ohm reading on the above setup.

It isn't drawing fluid up as fast as I might like, but when directly primed ... oh my this is as sweet as it comes.

Vapor production is spectacular, but the wick is not able to keep up with the fluid needs. I'm fairly certain this would rock in a dripper only setup. I can now understand why folks drop nic content so low with drippers (good lord!)

This would be my second (working) coil build ever, so let me hear your input and suggestions.

I stopped into my local vape shop and purchased a few supplies, 500 mesh SS wick, 3mm wick, a spool of 32G Kanthal, and some 8 mg/ml juice.

Nice folks, and we chatted over a few ideas for improving wick draw, the guys liked my coil build and suggested some ideas for fun builds in that direction too.

I swapped in the 3mm wick first as well as removing the fill screw. No joy came to me with this method.

Next was the SS mesh, again without the fill hole screw in place. Very nice when vaped with the mod on an angle so as to keep the wick saturated. Flavor; blissful, clean, and full. But ... and there is always a but; the draw was a bit tight.

The deck cap on this atty is steel and did not give much to the 2 cheap 1/16" bits I had on hand, though my dremel bit of the same size cut a perfect hole like a champ.

The draw is much better now, not so loose that I can't enjoy the draw and just open enough to flow lots of vapor.

I'm happy at the moment with this setup, and look forward to improving on my coil building methods.

I do need to get used to the tilt first, to get the wick saturated, but this takes just a fraction of a second to happen, no problems there.

I'm super stoked about getting this up and running, and am even considering ordering a couple to tinker with even more.
