Alright Im a few days into this...
I got an 801 penstyle for ECU (unsponsored)
got 2 batteries, some juice, and a car charger.

Ive only had it a few days, and it seems to be an easy switch from cigs.

I find I vape alot more than I ever smoked.
I got a couple questions though, that maybe u can help me with.

Cart Cleaning, how often is this done, I havent done it yet, why, and when is it neccessary...

Atty Cleaning, Same thing...

And now Im wanna see if this 801 measure up to 801s from other manufacturers...

I cant really tell if the bridge is high or low, as its my first...
It touches the cart, and indents it very slightly...
if it touching is a problem, would just not pushing it in all the way help?

also, I hear ppl saying if they dry burn they're atties, they can see it glow red... I dont ever see my atty get red hot... maybe Im being too delicate with this thing, but I dont let it get too hot.

Overall though it does seem to vape okay most of the time, kinda inconsistent sometimes from puff to puff, but Im still trying to figure it out. and it seems to be working out for me anyways.

Latly I have been enjoying Cola flavor :)

Just my practice, other people have other practices:

I don't clean my carts, I use them for a week or so then toss them. I bought 50 of them cheap from China, so no real expense.

I don't clean my atties, I (personally) find it doesn't do much good. I toss them when they fail.

Your cart filler material MUST touch the bridge (that's how it transfers the liquid). Yours sounds about right.

If you're using manual batts, take the mouthpiece out and hit the button til it (the coil on the inside of the atty, not the outside) turns red. If you're using an auto, blow in the LED end and look in a mirror. Dry burns help sometimes, it's the only concession I make to cleaning.

Inconsistency happens. Time and practice will reduce this. Sometimes it's the juice, sometimes it's the atty, sometimes it's the battery. Gotta play to win.

Ummm, dry burns aren't necessary to clean. I've got a pile of attys that run great and are about 8 months old.

I started with the 801 as my first e-cig over a year ago. I still use Penstyles now (mostly the low bridge 302 now, but still use 801s). I also use the 510 during the day off and on.

Carts I don't clean, just pull out the filling and toss and rinse out the plastic cart under the faucet after a month or so (sooner if I want to switch flavors). I use AquaClear foam from PetCo instead of polyfill. I find that the loose polyfill threads will clog attys when they work their way down into the bottom of the atty, so I quit using it. If you do use it, try using an interdental brush to remove the fibers once in a while. Cut the AquaClear foam just barely wider than the cart and the same length. Use tweezers to seat it in the bottom of the cartridge. Great stuff and lasts months.

801 attys don't require much cleaning if you are using good liquids. Coffee and other very dark colored flavors may require a bit more atty attention when it comes to cleaning. Strong flavors (such as Menthol or Cinnamon) really require their own atomizer since it is hard to remove them from the atty.

For cleaning all attys I recommend using PGA (EverClear) if you can get it or Vodka. If you don't have that in the house, use Crest Pro Health mouthwash (the blue stuff).

If your attys are really clogged or not putting out much vapor, put them in a glass bowl, cover with 2 inches of water and microwave for 3 minutes (it is safe to microwave metal as long as it is well covered with water). After it is through boiling, allow to sit and cool. Remove from the water, blow out water really well from both ends and soak for about 2 hours in PGA (which displaces any water in the atty). Blow out again from both ends and prime with about 5 or 6 drops of your e-liquid and you should be good to go.

Blow the 801/302 penstyle attys out often, as they have a tendency to leak down below the pot and flood (I check that first when I don't get much vapor). Also if you use auto batteries, put a string size twist of tissue into the battery hole to soak up any liquid that may get into the battery. Keep a microfiber cloth around to clean the threads of the atty and battery and to blow excess liquid into. Works great and you can wash them.

Enjoy your Penstyle. I love mine and use it 90% of the time every day.
