If your using a carto try taking your fingernail or small screwdriver and moving the center connector/pin up slightly. Ive thought I have had a broken pv and the pin just was not making contact. It worth a try anyway.
Yeah - try wiggling that center pin at the base of the cart (Connection area) with a small thin object but lightly & carefully and see if that helps!

Red on the center pin, black on the threads, 200 DC not ohms. That should work. Checking the spring is a good idea too..
The bolt has a mechanical switch doesn't it? Between all of us here we should be able to figure this out. Lol, I've never owned a bolt so I'm just going off the basics myself

Doh, sorry to hear that. One of my two bolts went bad also. I could only make it fire by screwing on an extension so I could get leverage with a wrench, then prying the connector out of the body a little on one side. Yeah, I would suggest returning for a replacement.

I took that one apart for kicks and yes, it is a super straightforward mod. Wire from positive terminal to switch, another wire from switch to center pin on 510 connector. Switch (externally) looks the same as the black horn switch that Madvapes sells, except instead of the metal nut, it's secured by hotglue or something that looks like it.

Glad to hear it is wired which means soldered and not contact connections. So can the switch be replaced with a MV horn button?

I think so, it looks the same to me:

don't know if this helps anyone but I received my second Bolt with an extension. It did not fire at all. took the extension off and it worked. turns out there was a light layer of powder coating on the edge of the extension that was stopping it from making a negative ground. I sanded it off and it now works like a champ.

What method did you use to get the button off? in case I ever need to do this. thanks.

Personally I think it'd be more trouble than it's worth, but here's some pics:
Carefully pry the positive terminal out of the cap. The wire it's soldered to is not very long. With this bolt the terminal came out before the white disc, so if that happens you'll have to pry that out also with a paperclip with a bent tip or something like that.

Then you'll have to deal with this stuff...on my broken bolt I just pried it out in chunks since I wasn't worried about the integrity of the wires. You could just solder in new wires or resolder the old ones, I guess, and then re-hotglue (or re-silicon?) the new switch in place.
