I don't know why I didn't think of this before, but my brother is a medical research scientist and has been since 1982. (no kid) I googled him and he has so many research papers published I stoped counting.

The kicker here though is that he is also a professor at a medical college and teaches Pharmacology & Toxicology. A trade off for his lab and staff.

I haven't spoken to him yet because he is currently in London giving lectures. Do you think he could do something to help us???? Like maybe test some e-juices. I really don't know what we need. But would try to do what I could.

Anyone with info on Connection Between Diabetes and Smoking would help a lot.

One of the biggies seems to be an analysis of the components in the actual VAPOR and an analysis of the actual exhaled vapor. If I recall correctly, the New Zealand study was the only one that has done that?

Those seem to be where there is a real lack of data...

It would be nice to see a large enough cross-section of different suppliers juices as well. That would be informative in terms of the quality/cleanliness of the liquids across the board.

Surprised at the lack of interest here. Well I will try anyway just so I am able to keep vaping.
I can only speak for myself. But, I'm very interested ... just have no specific suggestions to make. Perhaps most of the other 170+ viewers (so far) are in the same boat. I would go along with the suggestions of wv2win in post #3 though! :)

Don't worry about the lack of response yet Suddenlyno, alot of us are night owls here and there are alot of posts to look through. It would be great if your brother would agree to take a look at the liquid or the vapor or both. The more research the harder it will be for the "ban" wagoneers to squelch us, because we are all that confident that e-cigs are life savers. Ask him!

I can't give out Joes' email addy until I speak to him personally. Although it is on the Universitys' home page and if I get a green lite from him I will give it out which has his Bio and email.

I have to be honest he is a bit of a crusty person and probably would not respond anyway without prior knowledge from me about this ecig situation. Our mother was a diabetic and also died from lung cancer so I hope that will give him a push.

I will call his wife and find out when he is due back in the States.

His main area of research is congestive heart failure, hypertrophy and aging and diabetic neuropathy and peripheral hyperalgesia and some other stuff I have no clue what he is talking about. He went with physical health and I became a Mental Health Therapist. At least we have the whole person covered. lol.

If anyone knows of a direct connection between diabetes and smoking I will have him hooked (fingers crossed)

I think there are many things that he might find interesting to study. I don't know if he can get the grants or how the politics of his situation would effect his ability to do a study. That might be a reason why people have not commented that much.

The effects of smoking and Diabetes is interesting to say the least. In the short term quiting can actually make things worse but after 10 years it reverses. It might be possible to use the nic from an e-cig to counter the bad effects of the first stages of quiting.

I think it is a very good idea suddenlyno. Your brother would also be a good resource to look over the existing research up to date and give us futher insights about that. In addition I would hope that he could be a good resource person to help us network with other health researchers and practitioners who may be interested in this technology and could help us.
Thanks a lot for the offer.
